The Marlins are 6-4 against teams that have made the NCAA tournament.

The Tigers are 4-2 against teams that have made the NCAA tournament.

The Yellow Jackets are 4-7 against teams that have made the NCAA tournament (but 4-1 in their last 5 games against tournament participants).

The Wildcats are 1-4 against teams that have made the NCAA tournament.

I certainly would like to see Woodmore heal quicker, but if we can get by Del Valley, he may return in time to help. Losing any starter  in the NCAA's hurts. Twice before VWC has lost starters for the NCAA games (Chris Astorgia and Thomas Sumpter).   Let's hope DJ can return shortly.   While no one has given ODAC teams much of a chance to go beyond the Sweet 16, you never know. We are one powerful conference! Good luck to all our teams this weekend. Go gettum guys!

A good number of the results against tournament participants are going to be against ODAC teams. Do you know the respective records against non-ODAC tournament participants?

The Marlins are 3-2 against non-conference teams that have made the NCAA tournament.

The Tigers are 1-0 against non-conference teams that have made the NCAA tournament.

The Yellow Jackets are 0-4 against non-conference teams that have made the NCAA tournament, but I think they are much improved since the last one of these losses, which was to Catholic on 12/17.

The Wildcats have not played a non-conference team that has made the NCAA tournament.

My take on what's "down the road" for the ODAC teams ...

If they defeat Delaware Valley, it appears that Virginia Wesleyan will host a second home game on March 9 vs. CNU or Rutgers-Newark.  Then, they would likely travel to Williams or Catholic (although the Marlins might also get to host Catholic).

If they defeat Cabrini, the Tigers would play the winner of St. Vincent & Ohio Wesleyan.  They would host St. Vincent, but it's unclear whether they would host or travel to Ohio Wesleyan.  With another win against OWU, they would host Dickinson, Marietta, or Penn State-Behrend, but it's unclear whether they would host or travel to Wooster.

Randolph-Macon will travel to Stevens (Lehman).  Then, they would play the winner of WPI and SUNY-Purchase.  They'd travel to WPI, but it's unclear whether they would host or travel to SUNY-Purchase.  Then, they'd probably travel to Amherst, although they might host on March 16, if Amherst were upset in their second-round game.

Randolph travels to Emory.  Then they'd travel to Whitworth or Redlands ... on the west coast ... which would be really cool.  If they were to win again, Randolph would likely travel to Texas to play one of the Texas teams.  Actually, if Trinity (TX) were to pull 2 upsets, defeating both Concordia (TX) and Mary Hardin-Baylor, and if Randolph were to pull 2 upsets, Randolph would have the record to justify hosting Trinity (TX).  However, I don't think that their gym is sufficient for the NCAA to award them a home game.  Wildcats fans are probably just going to have to travel to Georgia, California, and Texas, supporting the Wildcats' effort to get back to Salem on March 22 for the Elite Eight.
Good luck to all the ODAC teams today, it would be real nice to have everyone win today in the first round!

It got tense after the Jackets gave up a 16 point lead early in the second half and were behind by 1 point a couple of times, but kudos for keeping their cool and hitting the FTs at the end. Nice job by the Empire 8 broadcasters.
