BC was forced to foul and GC's Kimbrough hit both ends of a one-and-one to clinch it.

Impressive weekend for the Wasps. Beating BC yesterday and EMU today.  The score was around 114-104.  Korey Townsend had around 30.  Another freshmen(Weinz) steps up and hits some big 3's down the stretch.  Great weekend for them.

It's comforting to know there are some nice people at Lynchburg.  Coach Swickwrath and manager Charles had warm greetings.  I wished Andy Albright best luck, but I must have jinxed him.  He didn't have a very good game.

It was ugly basketball for the most.  In the first half Roanoke played like they had left all their emotions on the court yesterday; they scored only 21 points, and it looked like they were willing to play only good enough to win.  They came out in the second half and quickly took control of the game and the only question left was the winning margin.  I was hoping for 20, was a little optimistic.

In the second half Roanoke shot 60%; Lynchburg shot 27%.  Roanoke shot 5-6 from beyond the arc; Lynchburg was 0-7.  Roanoke outrebounded the Hornets in the second half 21 to 8.  Roanoke was 8-9 from the charity stripe a bit better than LC's 6-7.  Roanoke had 6 assists vs. 1 for the Hornets in the second half.  For a while it looked like Roanoke could hold Lynchburg to fewer than 40 points for the game, but they didn't.  Lynchburg scored 16 in the second half to total 44.  Roanoke scored 37 in the second half for a total of 58.  The best part of the entire game was the singing of the national anthem, done in grand style by Jared Butler's dad. 

Jared had 11 points for the game, all in the second half.   Tee Jackson also had 11.  Ben Shrader had another fine game with 15 points.  Josh LaPorte pulled down 12 boards.  Pat Prior had 18 for the Hornets.   I don't know how Lynchburg's team could have beaten W&L or E&H.  Maybe it's an ampersand thing.

Roanoke played suprisingly well against the tigers yesterday and of course the tigers played suprisingly bad! Congrats to the Maroons for all our missed shots and lack of hustle>

I think it is so obnoxious of you to continue to bring up A.J. Dowell, it seems like the people that talk the most know the least. I would consider you in that catagory since all you do is snap pictures during games anyways. Just so you know their is a tremendous amount of repsect between the Dowell's and HSC, something you and your lame Roanoke paper know nothing about. Let by- gone's be by-gones, but expect the worst when you come shooting your camera in KIRBY with the fighting Maroons. Grow up and get a life. Nobody else throws snide remarks on here expect for the students on this site. What are you 60 something?

jttiger...don't know you...don't the Dowell's...but I do know one thing...Mr. Loesel is a well respected poster on this board and a friend to many here, including myself. He and I have disagreed on many topics in the past and will on many more in the future, but he's a good guy with a good heart and the best interest of the kids he "pho-togs" at heart. Was the KIRBY comment meant to pose a threat...expect the worst? Should he show up packing...or with a posse? Speaking of no life...is that all you've got to do...threaten a guy with a camera and an opinion? And only the students throw snide comments on this board... are you kidding me? Tought weekend for the EMU bball team. It looks like E&H offensive strategy worked as the difference in the game was the three point shot.  E&H made 17 3-pointers compared to just one for EMU.  If all of those shots are 2-pointers, EMU wins the game.  It also didn't help that EMU had 39, yes, 39 TO's.
