Mid-way through his 14th season, the Marlins notched their 300th win vs. 96 losses with Coach Macedo at the helm.  Congratulations are certainly in order! Randolph surprisingly never got in today's game until the second half.  Marlins seemed back on track with a strong win but they have  some big games coming up.

Dee Vick won his 95th.  The Tigers now have a 3-1 ODAC record and are among the top 4 teams, as they should be.  Among these four, there has only been one matchup so far (Guilford's win over RMC), so the competition between Guilford, RMC, VWC, and HSC is about to begin!!

3 of HSC's next 5 games are against the other three at the top of the ODAC, and HSC also plays their only game against the surprisingly good Shenandoah Hornets team at home, next Saturday.  The toughest part of the Tigers' ODAC schedule is coming up now!

Congratulations to Coach Macedo.

Another coaching milestone noted at D3hoops:  Mike Strong won his 800th game as head coach of the Lady Royals at the University of Scranton yesterday.

^ R-MC Coach Nathan Davis, with +100 wins in less than 5 full seasons, deserves a mention here among the ODAC's best coaching records.

Glad the Jackets could hold off the Hornets yesterday in Lynchburg & congrats to all the other winners around the ODAC.  It's looking like a most interesting season.

GO JACKETS!

Nathan Davis absolutely should be included among the ODAC's best.  He has done a remarkable job at RMC and could well take over the best record in the ODAC in the years to come.  Winning games in the ODAC is not an easy task as we all know and there aren't any games that are automatic W's. How fortunate we are to be able to boast about our conference.  Go ODAC!

I realize all his coaching victories haven't been in the ODAC, but Guilford's Tom Palombo's done "okay" as well:

100-63 in 6 seasons at Defiance = .615
207-87 in 10 1/2 seasons at Guilford = .704

307-150 total in 16 1/2 seasons = .672

Tom Palumbo should certainly be included in the heavily laden top coaches list.  The ODAC in the last 13-15 years, because of its strong competition, has made coaching in the ODAC an enviable position. It has drawn both "top shelf" players and coaches to the conference.

And he got 45 Ws in three seasons as the Virginia Wesleyan women's coach too.

Agreed-he is an excellent coach!  Also glad to see he employed the "make BC beat you from 3 point range" strategy Saturday in their victory.  Good to see a team finally make BC shoot a bunch of 3's.  BC was 5-25 and as expected, Guilford won the game.

I watched this game on the web Saturday afternoon and I'm not sure I'd say "as expected."  Guilford's had trouble from time to time at BC plus the Eagles were coming off a huge win at VWC and GC was on a 3-game skid.  I will agree, however, that BC's inablility to hit the three was the difference in the end.  GC has E&H at home on Wednesday then a trip to "the beach" on Saturday!

I went to the Lynchburg/ Randolph-Macon game Saturday.  We were lucky to get out of there with a win.  LC has some guys who can play.
