Go Jackets! (Go Marlins goes without saying of course.) I hope that VWC and RMC will get to matchup in Crenshaw for a tourney game. RMC was always one of my favorite road trips to make because I knew the Jackets crowd would come out in full force, and I can only imagine what kind of atmosphere it will be in the NCAA tourney. I look forward to making that trip down I-95 in terrible Friday rush hour traffic next week to see my Marlins and the Jackets go to battle! So RMC and VWC, get the job done please so I can experience this lol

VWC is 520 miles from Williams.  RMC is 483 miles from Williams.  Therefore, a win by #9 Williams in the 1st and 2nd rounds, combined with BOTH #20 RMC and #28 VWC moving on to the Sweet Sixteen, will put the sectional at either RMC or possibly #15 SUNY Purchase (northeast of the City, just to the west of the CT state line).

If Williams gets through the weekend and VWC does not, then it's very possible that Williams would host the sectional, so I'd guess that the Ephs are rooting against the Marlins.

Who knew they played one half each day?

I want to wish the best of luck to both my Marlins and the Jackets.  As usual, I don't agree with d3hoops projections or educated guesses.  I believe that if either the Marlins or Jackets make it to the sweet 16, the winner will beat the favorite Williams.  I think it's an ODAC year for one of us to at least make the final four.  I was right once back in 2006-07 when no one gave VWC much of a chance to beat some of the best teams in the country (Illinois Weslyan, Wittenberg )  RMC has more talent than the Marlins this year but you just never know about all the intangibles that make a team win.  Anyway, I hope that the ODAC goes deep into the tourney.  That's my uneducated projection and I wish BOTH teams success.  GO Marlins  ! Go Jackets !

That was 2005-2006 - I painfully remember (as IWU had one of their best teams ever, but barely fell to the Marlins).  We had TWO first-team All Americans that year, and a junior who was first-team the next year (on a dreadfully bad team where he was the only really good player - of necessity, he beat out national POY Kent Raymond in both points and rebounds in the CCIW; they still finished 4-10).

I still want a match-up with Witt for 2nd, though what I REALLY want is a rematch with VWC for first!  (We already beat Amherst for third, back when they still had that game.)

FISHTANKFAN

You are correct.  It was 2005-2006.  I would love to see rematches of those games again too. :)

Jknezek, while your remark would not cut it on SNL, it did make me smile> :)

Mr. Ypsi,
Yea that was a very good Illinois Wesleyan team. They were very good and amelianovich was very very good and maybe one of the best players I have ever played against( either him or Myrick from Lincoln) Daukaus was very good along with freeman and the Twins. Wow would not want to have that rematch..lol.. Good luck to The Marlins and Jackets today. 2 Great programs and great coaching staffs.

Livingston not playing for Wesley bodes very well for VWC should Wesley win this game. That is a massive loss for them, was easily their second best player.

donho

Jackets  don't show tonight. That was awful basketball!

FISHTANKFAN

Who is Livingston?  He is not on the roster at Wesley.  What happened to the Jackets tonight  ?  I only caught the overtime but they looked tired.  Too long a layover perhaps?  I am so sorry they lost.  I was rooting for them to win.  A great season none the less but it's a shame.

Congrats to the Marlins!  Keep it going-- you are now the only ODAC team alive, men or women.

The Jackets just didn't play well tonight & they caught some unlucky breaks on close calls.  It doesn't matter "why" but it was a huge disappointment for them & their fans to lose in the first round at home.  Congrats to DeSales, they played well especially defensively & had a player (#3) who may have only missed a couple shots all night.  He went to the FT line many times and it seemed like he drained every single one of them.  The UMW game against them tomorrow night should be a good one.

But for us, the season is over & we'll move on to baseball & softball.  See you all next year & GO MARLINS!!!
