Sad to hear that the Jackets lost. I was at the games being hosted at Wash U here in Saint Louis. Checked the Jackets' score for the first time during halftime here and it was 60-60 in OT. Checked it again just before the start of the 2nd half and knew it was over with the Jackets trailing by 8 with 11 second left.

Not that anyone on this board cares, but Webster U from here in Saint Louis, the team whose games I have been going to for 13 seasons, came within a point of upsetting #3 Illinois Wesleyan at IWU tonight. That might have been the biggest upset in D3 NCAA tournament history had it happened. I just had to say that because I am so happy for Webster, even in a losing game. They will be better next year, so watch out.

If what I saw on Wesley's website is accurate, Livingston only played in the first seven games of the season.

That's what I saw too. It seems Wesley has done a fine job with or without him.  Good Luck tonight Marlins!  It won't be an easy game for sure, but none are this time of year.  Have some fun and leave it all on the floor.  You have outlived the season's projections already so just give it your best shot.  Win or lose, it's been a great year.  Go Marlins!!!!

Yeah I stopped watching the VWC game and turned to the RMC game after the marlins got it under control (which took too long) and that Coleman kid from DeSales was NICE! Sheesh! There's really nothing you can do when players hit shots like the 3 he hit to put them up 7 in OT bc RMC had been playing pretty good D that possession. But anyway, good season RMC. I was genuinely rooting for you guys to win last night

On the way - VWC won 79-74 - way to go Marlins!!  Remember, Greg Lewis made two 3 pointers in the last 6 seconds for H-SC to defeat Mary Washington early in the season - VWC's next challenge.

Congrats to my marlins on their 4th straight trip to the sweet 16...well deserved..hoping ncaa either sends everyone to vwc or doesn't pay for a flight and sends them to Mary wash. And I think macedo might have just locked up south region coach of the year which he should get.. marlins in the sweet 16 in which many believed would be a down year for them

It seems that the NCAA never pays for a flight if they don't have to, so I expect the sectional will be either at Albertus Magnus or UMW.  If the NCAA is willing to pay for a flight, it will be at one of the higher seeds, Williams or VWC.

Congratulations, Marlins!  When is the last time the ODAC did NOT have a team playing in the Sweet Sixteen?

Who is Livingston?  He is not on the roster at Wesley.  What happened to the Jackets tonight  ?  I only caught the overtime but they looked tired.  Too long a layover perhaps?  I am so sorry they lost.  I was rooting for them to win.  A great season none the less but it's a shame.
Looks like he must have been removed from the team, gotten injured, or something else since he was a senior. Guy was starting and averaging 15.9 points a game first semester, dropped 23 on H-SC. Heck of a job the did to win as many games as they did with losing him. Wish we could have scheduled them second semester instead then, only beat us by 6 with him!

Pat Coleman

Believe he only had one semester of eligibility left, and that was only discovered this fall, so he was basically SOL.

Host sites will be announced early afternoon today.  I'm betting that the Marlins will play at #17 Mary Washington.  If I'm right, they will play the Eagles in the 2nd game on Friday evening, presumably at 7:30pm.

I'd guess the other 3 sectionals will be played at #1 UW Stevens Point, #6 Illinois Wesleyan, and #7 Amherst.

Dave 'd-mac' McHugh

Well the game could be at 7, 7:30 or 8... so... aiming for the middle is good :).

The Tigers may have only been 16-13 this year, but they certainly had a very tough schedule.  They played 10 of their 29 games against teams that made the NCAA tournament, going 3-7 in those matchups, and had 5 games against teams that have now made the Sweet Sixteen, with a 1-4 record in those games, including a last-second win against #17 Mary Washington, a 2-point loss to #9 Williams, and three very close losses to Virginia Wesleyan. Certainly a great season in one of the strongest 5 conferences in the country.

This is sort of random, but these are the records of ODAC teams against teams that have now made the Sweet Sixteen:

Randolph-Macon   2-0
Virginia Wesleyan   1-1
Eastern Mennonite  1-1
Bridgewater  1-2
Hampden-Sydney   1-4
Roanoke  1-0
Guilford  0-3
Lynchburg  0-2
Randolph   0-3
Washington & Lee  0-3
Shenandoah  0-1
Emory & Henry  0-1

Ouch, that is unfortunate.
