As for 3 VWC players making all tourney I agree but the 3rd for VWC should have been Nick Doyle. He played great in semifinals and finals. CMR, Moore did go 2-13 and have one of his worst games as a Marlin. I Guarantee he plays at another level in the NCAA tourney just like he did last year. He will be out to prove himself to doubters like yourself

Speaking from my own personal opinion, CMR, why can't you just be happy your team won the ODAC, going undefeated through the ODAC in the process, as the #1 team in the country and what has to be considered the top overall seed in the tournament? Enjoy it instead of wasting time and energy complaining about something you can't change and likely won't even be thinking about in a week.

Let me address a couple of things, since some of my comments seem to have caused problems for some of you. First, I apologize if anyone has taken offense at anything I have said because no offense was meant. I am an R-MC alum and fan and as such am also a fan of the ODAC.

To Swish3 regarding Akeem Holmes, you are just flat out wrong. He is one very good basketball player and would be starting and playing a ton of minutes for most of the teams in the conferences I mentioned above as well as for most other teams in the ODAC.

y_jack_lok:  Our bad!  We mixed up your ODAC post with someone else's & didn't mean to disparage you as a poster in any way.   Watching the 3 games R-MC played in Salem live, we sure can't agree that the ODAC is weaker than usual this year, but your perspective in full post above is valuable & we'll try to be more open-minded on that point.

Can't stand it when posters criticize a particular player in such a general way -- no matter who the player is.  They all work hard & have to earn their place on a team while keeping up with their academic load.

GO MARLINS!!! GO JACKETS!!!!

Thanks 2RMCFans. Perhaps I was not clear in what I meant. I don't think I said -- and certainly did not mean to imply -- that the ODAC is weaker than usual this season. I was not comparing this year's ODAC teams to those from any past ODAC seasons and how they stacked up nationally. I was making a broad brush comparison between the ODAC and some other conferences I have a bit of familiarity with in relation to the overall depth of the teams in the conferences this season. So I'm going to stick with my observations. I think one way to look at it is if you were to take the teams in each of these conferences that finished in the 3-8 spots (those teams that didn't make the NCAA tournament) and had them play each other in order of finish, I think the teams in the CCIW, UAA, and WIAC would probably win the majority of those games. I say 3-8 because the CCIW and UAA are 8 team conferences. The WIAC is a 9 team conference right now, but one school is switching to another conference next season. I would not place any bets on which conferences would fare best if the #s 1 and 2 teams in those conference played each other. I think there is a lot of parity at the top.

Anyway, I will be rooting for the Jackets Saturday evening and hopefully will be able to follow the game live in some way.

Wasn't intending to ruffle so many feathers, but I can understand how my comments must have come across....should have kept them to myself.  R-MC is having a special season, so enjoy it....my apologies.

Not that it matters, but does anyone care to comment if they put any stock into the Massey Ratings?

ATTENTION!! Just got word from R-MC Athletics that the start time saturday has been MOVED to 4pm!! D-Mac-you guys have any idea why?? Kinda screws me up....I was gonna work saturday until 2 pm....the problem was...ALOT of people bought tickets in anticipation of a 7pm tip.....tickets were paid for .....what happens if they can't go now?? NCAA SCREWED UP!! Don't think it was on our end..... ???

I'm aware of, but don't pay attention to, the Massey Ratings. But I know some folks out here in the midwest pay attention to them and give them mixed reviews. If I understand Massey, it is a purely statistical analysis with no personal opinion/observation involved. But statistics don't tell the whole story so they probably aren't any more accurate, or farther off base, than other methods of ranking.

You should ask them. Could be in order to accommodate the opponent's return trip by bus, or with weather in mind, or any of a bunch of things.

The NCAA committee chair is the Randolph-Macon AD, so I am 100 percent positive that any time change is above board with the NCAA. :)

I wish HSC was dealing with that situation this coming Saturday, instead, we are sitting home awaiting next year.
Chill out and enjoy the ride. Worse things could happen. Hopefully there be many more home playoff games in Ashland this month.

Thanks Pat.....It's just that they sent us an email saying it was one time and a bunch of people ordered tickets and then they shifted the time on us......I know ALOT of our alumni base is in the Richmond area so its not that big of a deal to them but another portion of us(like me) DON'T live in the Richmond area, although we're within an hour or two.And I IN NO WAY was inferring that it wasn't "above board" with the NCAA.....it's just inconvenient to some of us, especially the ones who can't come because of the time change, and it could have( and should have) been planned a little better. GO JACKETS!

If it's the weather, that isn't exactly easy to plan for.

They moved the game because they felt it made no sense for teams, especially the Catholic/Alvernia winner, to be sitting around hotel rooms and such all day Saturday for a night game that they will most likely stay at a hotel that night for as well. Allows teams to get home that night.
