VWC will be very good this season. They are absolutely stacked at the guard positions. Alot of guys that can play and can shoot it very well. Khory Moore will have another great season. Look for those guys to once again contend for an ODAC crown and try to make another deep tourney run. Macedo has those boys rolling
When was the last time that the Marlins were NOT stacked at the guard positions?

Didn't see this posted, so going to put the link out there.  Coach Dean will have a very young team, but seems like some good newbies.  http://emuroyals.com/information/royalsnews/2015mbbrecruits

Looks like a taller class of recruits

5-foot-8 point guard Khalil Davis from Spotswood
6-1 combo guard Xavier McCants from Sandy Spring, Maryland
6-2 wing Travis Clower from Romney, West Virginia
6-3 wing Darryl Christian from Brookville High School
6-4 wing Christopher Taylor from Salisbury, North Carolina
6-5 forward Mark Loving from Caroline High School (Fredericksburg)
6-6 forward A.J. Derricott, also from Caroline
6-7 forward Sam Thomas from Owings, Maryland

LOL! Good point, but I think this year they will have to rely on them more than in the past as they are still searching for an inside threat. Kaelin Poe came on towards the end of the year, had a couple double doubles in the tourney but they are still searching for some depth behind him. They have a couple tough non conference matchups (Emory, CNU, Salisbury, UMW) so they will have to figure it out soon!

I'm making the trip to Chapel Hill Friday to watch the Quakers versus the Tar Heels ... I have no illusions about DI preseason #1 against a good DIII team, but it should be a memorable trip.  Since Guilford hasn't played UNC since 1948, probably the only chance I'll get in my lifetime.  Thanks to Guilford and President Fernandes for hosting a pregame event in the Kenan-Flagler Business School.   Go Quakers!

Final UNC 99, Guilford 49

It was a fun night.  GC scored the first basket and led briefly 2-0.  :)  Frantic last minute as the Quakers kept the Tar Heels off the board and prevented the partisan crowd from getting free biscuits at Bojangles.  lol  My seat was directly behind the Guilford bench ... it was as close as I've ever been at a DI arena.

Tigers looked great against Longwood tonight, coming up just three points short in a 71-68 loss. Led for the entire first half. Second half was back and forth with three ties and three lead changes. Longwood wasn't able to seize full control of the game until within the last minute.

R-MC lost an exhibition at D1 M. Saint Mary's 79-63. R-MC won the rebounding battle and freshman Montese Adams had 7 boards. Four freshmen played a total of 51 minutes but only scored 4 points.  Sophomore Mike Silverthorn had 22 points.  Curious to know if any R-MC posters went to they game. If so I'd love to hear your observations.

I heard a controversial call gave Longwood control of the game. Any details?

Longwood led for the last 7 minutes of the game but they never really got full control of the game until there was only 16 seconds left because before then it was anyone's game. It was a 3-point game with 53 seconds to go and Hampden-Sydney's possession. After that it was pretty much called correctly from what I can tell. If that's Longwood needing a foul call to gain control of the game then all I have to say that is a "curious" definition/interpretation of what "control of the game" is and frankly a poor excuse.

Now if you wanted to say the the cumulative effect of the whistle assisted in giving Longwood control of the game then you could have an argument. They only got called for 15, of course we were shooting a lot of jump shots because their length bothered us around the rim, and we got called for 31. But one call? No, just no. I can't even begin to imagine what call this person is talking about.

Some of their regular starters were out with injury/suspension but they had 8 or 9 scholarship players available including their projected best player Nwogbo who was picked Preseason All-Big South.

I attended the MSM game against RMC.  Encouraging to see the young team holding their own against a bigger and stronger D1 team.  RMC was down by only one going into the half.  The coach, rightfully so, played a bit more with rotations in the second half.  Some of those rotations and unnecessary turn overs led to the deficit that built up in the second half, but the team looked good, especially given their age and relatively limited combined collegiate experience.

The three stand outs of the night would be Sr. Lamont Moore, Jr. Michael Taylor and So Mike Silverthorn.  Lamont provided the team a much needed spark and athleticism, but will need to watch his turn over ratio.  Michael Taylor showed some good scoring potential and overall solid skills.  Silverthorn has expanded his game since last year, showing strong ball control and wider variety of shooting ability.  The combination of those three as well as Jamie Wilson at the point should give the Jackets some solid results this season.  In my opinion, the 5th position is up for grabs but there are several athletic freshman that should fill that role nicely.

A young team for sure, but the chemistry looked good and the team has a lot of passion which is evident on the court.  Here's to a great season for the team and RMC fans!
