Article mentioning EMU recruiting class.  Coach Dean thinks he will be the only coach in the country with two sets of twins!

The Wartburg women's team that made the Final Four last year had two sets of twins on it.  They'll all be juniors this year.

Just looked at the upcoming Basketball schedules and both home games in the RMC/HSC series are scheduled when students are off-campus.  May want to get with the league and flip those games, maybe HSCATHLETICS can make that happen?  It would be a shame to have those two games played without the students there.

Scheduling power is beyond my level of authority. I mean if we have like three sports playing at the same time (like baseball, lacrosse, and basketball) I could probably manage to convince one of the coaches to move the game time for one so there will be only two at the same time but that's about as far as it goes for me.

But yeah I agree, ideally each school's top rivalry matchup would be played when students are on campus.

Maybe I'll call Coach Burns and maybe there could be a coordinated effort to convince the league.  If both schools agreed, not sure why the league would care?  You'd hope that the league would want to accommodate this.

The dates have been swapped. Now it's at Macon on 1/11 and at H-SC on 2/1. Students will be on campus for both games now, at least whoever ends up doing the J-Term for R-MC will be on campus on 1/11. Do a lot of non-winter student-athletes do the J-Term?

Congrats all around for the solution to play in front of students instead of empty seats. Scranton has intersession the month of January and it's depressing to lose the atmosphere of student enthusiasm for conference games and especially for rivalry games. Glad someone was able to make it happen.

RIP, Bill Phipps, radio voice of BC.  He was a wonderful guy who will be dearly missed.  I hope to have a fraction of his courage if I ever have to face what he faced.

I remember his work from back in the days when I was SID at Eastern Mennonite.  Good guy.

Most all RMC students do J-term, so they'll be there on 1/11.  Some courses involve travel, but most of those are the last two weeks of January.  Good move by the ODAC, not sure how it came to be?

Coaches made it happen. Not sure if the ADs had any role or not. For situations like this, generally all the coaches need to do is agree to swap dates.

Dave 'd-mac' McHugh

Not necessarily true... usually ADs have to be involved as well considering so many other factors like facility usage and being a conference game. Maybe that isn't the case, but I don't know of schedule changes anywhere that don't usually have an AD give a thumbs up to during the process.
