Final Guilford 75, Shenandoah 60 in Winchester

Not a great effort by the Quakers, but with the Hornets shooting so poorly in the first half (31-16 GC at the break), they didn't have to play particularly well.  A couple of early lead changes with SU holding their last lead by 1 point with 16:33 to go in the first half.  Guilford led by as many as 27 with the reserves getting lots of time late.  Three Quakers in double figures led by Thompson's 17.

Guilford (11-2, 4-0) visits Randolph in Lynchburg on Wednesday.  Shenandoah (5-8, 1-3) visits Bridgewater.

Another solid effort by the Jackets, and HSC continues to baffle me.

42 of R-MC's 77 points from 7 players off the bench. Wish I could have watched it. Well done.

Yeah, it looked early like HSC was going to win.

If you are baffled, imagine how HSC fans feel. Been along time since the Tigers were even in the conversation, much less, competitive in the odac. Don't follow b'ball too closely, but it seems the Tigers are not very good once again.

As I said before, I think the HSC team has the makings of a very good team, great size, quickness, discipline, etc, etc.  However, for the next game, I hope they continue their current play.

Sounds like code for "Hampden-Sydney at Randolph-Macon on January 11".

I hope HSC plays better than they have so far; if not it could be a long and miserable night.

My fear is that HSC will play better.  They are due a good game.

we'll find out Wednesday night, the Tigers have not shown much that indicates they are capable of playing a really good game, hopefully that comes out Wednesday, otherwise they will 2 games below .500 and swimming up stream. Maybe we need to start jumping our coach like you guys did right before RMC got hot !!! Anything is worth a try

New men's Top  25 is out ... two one ODAC team getting votes ... Guilford with 16 points and Lynchburg (Lycoming, sorry) with 14.  I think RMC and VWC, et al, are good teams, but it's difficult to get votes when you have 5 and 4 losses, respectively.

Nothing against the conference, but the top has come back to the middle and the middle hasn't risen. It was a number of great years, but things are bit a down for the conference currently.

No disagreement from me, Dave ... the ODAC is not currently one of the top DIII conferences.

Looks to me like it says Lycoming, not Lynchburg.

I think the Averett lost was a wakeup call for everyone at RMC.  5-0 since, and playing inspired ball.  Programs like RMC and HSC have historically high standards and should be held to such.
