for what it's worth, you did mis-quote scottie, and you did take it a bit out of context...not condoning the comments at all, but they aren't quite as harsh as your mis-quote

Not passing judgement on anyone, but if the poster really hopes that Wamsley is injuried and not available for Wednesday really needs to get a life.. I'm a huge HSC fan and could not imagine wanting to win bad enough to hope that opposing player is injuried and not able to play. Where is the sportsmanship and concern for the players welfare? Sounds like a statement made by a D1 fan, not abn ODAC fan !!!!

I admit, I phrased it rather poorly. I definitely don't want Wansley injured (because I would like us to be able to beat Macon WITH Wansley on the court). I hope he heals up quickly. The more he is on the court the better Macon is, and the better Macon is the better the ODAC looks. What I meant by the statement and how I should have phrased it is that if Wansley is still lingering from the injury, I hope someone makes the decision for him to sit out for the game, because that will give LC a better chance to win and will prevent further injury to Wansley.

My picks:
Jan. 25--W&L, GC, RMC, RC

Jan 28-H-S, GC, E&H, RC

Jan 29-E&H, GC

I made these picks against R-M assuming Wansley is out.  We can win against GC and E&H, but each place is too tough to play without veteran leadership.

I'd be more than happy to be wrong, of course.  ;D

As for the posted comment regarding Wansley's injury and LC, well, some things just really have to be beneath your notice.  So no comment.

Don't you think you took that a little out of context? Every poster here respects Justin Wansley. I  think every team in the ODAC would rather Play R-M without him. That's how I read < . You left out the "I dont want to wish anyone to be injured". Would your ODAC team be happier if Justin is still recovering when your team plays R-M?

I wish Mr. Wansley a speedy recovery for his benefit as well as R-M's.

Now on to my Generals. I know they're 2-14. They don't have a senior and they just took R-M to OT at R-M; against what should be R-M's team next year. You can't see it in the win-loss column but we're getting better. Chin up Gennies.

RMC beats W&L for the 41st straight game and W&L has not won in Ashland since 1959.  Is this the longest head-to-head streak in ODAC?

As to Wansley, I would guess (as I know nothing officially) that he will not play against LC, but hopefully will play this weekend.

Would there be any poster that would know about Wans' status when R-M knows?  19 points per game is a lot to lose.

Do any of the posters follow D3 b'ball on a national basis? I'm wondering which conferences are the strongest this year and exactly where the best b'ball is being played. I find it hard to believe the ODAC is one of those conferences. I've seen all but two ODAC teams this season but rarely do I witness good basketball at any ODAC game. The games are close but the play is ugly, on a regular basis. Good hard defense, lots of turnovers, questionable officiating, poor shooting(unless RMC is playing HSC) as the Jackets always seem to shoot the lights out against HSC, just plain ugly basketball. I'm I missing something or am I just watching the wrong team(s) play ?

Traditionally the best ball is played in the WIAC, CCIW, and OAC. This year, however, the WIAC doesn't have a lot of seniors and is a little down. The UAA is playing surprisingly well, however. Good resurgence by the bottom teams in that league and the top teams continue to hold their own nationally.

On a good year the ODAC gets into the conversation about the top five or six conferences but not usually.

I would like to congratulate the Marlins on their 14 game win streak, one of the longest  in the country.  I find it strange how silent the board becomes when anything good happens to VWC except for a few very loyal posters.  It doesn't seem to matter how well the Marlins play or how far they go each season, most posters give no credit where it is due.  Instead of a long win streak bringing attention to the ODAC and away from the other schools, the Marlins are being treated as if they have committed a mortal sin by not losing to make the league more competitive.  If RMC or HSC or any other team had a 14 game win streak then the board would be rejoicing, but not one mention of it by anyone.  How sad.  Well I for one, hope that the Marlins go a very very long way for all their hard work.  I also hope that Coach Macedo finally gets COY.  No one else deserves it more.

I doubt if the school will release any info.  If I knew anything official, I would not share it on this board for the sake of opponent scouting reports.  I think a major indicator will be if Wans is in uniform or not against LC.  He will not play against LC, but if he's in uniform that's a very good sign.

I see that you've picked RMC to lose this weekend, but I would not be so quick.  I think there's lots of points on this team and on the bench.  As Sutherland did Sunday, someone will step up.  I don't have stats, but Irmer has good production with points per minute, and more minutes may mean more points.  Also Boris got more minutes Sunday and with playing time, his production would improve.  Carlson has had a few big 20+ games this year.  It's always tough to lose your leader, but there's lot's of depth and opportunity for this team now, they just need to step up.

78 RMC--Thanks for your notes!!  As for my picks, I'll be happy to be wrong any day of the week!!
