The Eagles sure had their chances.  I didn't get to meet >, but I'm sure he was one of the five Hornet fans screaming at the end.

LOL! It sounded as though if BC could have hit atleast one or two 3 pointers during the game they could have pulled it out. Was that their worst 3 point fieldgoal percentage for the season?

I sure hope so ... on the drive back, the radio crew said the Eagles finished 2-for-16 from behind the arc ... with their two best three-point shooters (both over .500 from there) in Fox and Maupin finishing a combined 1-for-13.  Yuck.

Kaase injured his ankle early and did not return.  Edwards is playing gimpy.  Could be a tough remainder of the season for the Tigers.

Congrats to stillfamily and > for going 4-1 on an interesting day in the ODAC.

Also congrats to narch for picking closest to the total score of the Methodist-CNU game.  CNU won 81-63 (144 points) and narch guessed 142.  ladyeagle was a close second with a guess of 147.

Actually "kid" ... birdjersey33 also was within 2 on the bonus game as he picked 146 points. He also is 6-3 for the week so far in the "pick'ems".Other than that, you're pretty much on it so far.

James Madison has regressed from the team that narrowly beat BC earlier. It would be a great game but perhaps BC would beat the Dukes in OT? RE Lee's boys would beat JMU I think.
(RE Lee has won 67 in a row which is a state High School record in nearby Staunton, VA.)

Last night's Tiger loss was a tough one.  The Tigers started off the game poorly, going down by 10-1 early in the first half.  This kind of thing has happened a lot this season -- letting the other team get out to a big, early lead and then playing catch-up.  Nevertheless, the Tigers played a pretty good game after that, in many ways, playing without Kaase against a Royals team that is much better than their record indicates .....  The Royals have lost a bunch of very close games this season.  they took VWC to OT and lost to RMC by only 5 points.  I thought they looked better last night than when they played a few weeks ago at HSC.  With recent wins versus the Maroons and the Kaaseless Tigers, the Royals could be ready to roll.

The Tigers outrebounded the Royals, 49-35, but were killed by 21 turnovers.  Jyri Laakso played a good game for the Tigers, with 9 points and 6 rebounds in under 20 minutes of action.  The freshman is clearly getting better each week and the Tigers will finish the season with more depth in the post (assuming that Kaase is able to play again).  Matt Green was once again super, the 5'10" junior point guard not only getting 16 points and 3 assists, but also 8 rebounds.  A number of other Tigers played very well, but it wasn't enough to make up for the early 9-point deficit, especially without Kaase.

LC finally gets that big win we knew would come eventually.  Defense was the key to the game for both teams. BC made a big mistake and played zone  the first half and we simply tore up the zone. BC switched to man-to-man the second half and played good defense the second half. Makes you wonder what would have happened if they had switched out of the zone earlier. LC's defense held BC to 27 points in the first half and forced Clay Michael into probably his worst game of the season. We also forced Maupin to settle for 3 pointers that he wasn't maiking and prevented him from getting any shots closer to the basket to prevent him from gaining any confidence. The defense came up huge on BC's last possession in OT, preventing them from getting a good look at a shot and Josh Fox (i think, the play-by-play for OT is screwed up on the box score) threw up a shot from just outside the pain hoping to get fouled. Kevin Nmah has to be one of the best defensive players in the conference. He was just simply a beast yesterday.

Andy Albright now only needs 12 steals to tie the conference record for career steals!!
