Haven't seen anything that said it wasn't good for both Friday games.
yes it's good for both! Enjoy the COTU! Go by Sports Page Grill for pregame festivities! Good Luck to Scranton!

Thanks, 1st game seems to be considered a tossup.

Safe travels Ronk! Go Royals!

Thanks, going to wear the championship shirt of '76 and '83 if I can still fit in it.  ;)

HSC up 31-29 at half.  Was up 11 but let Emory back in it.

In yesterday news, the ODAC has a good showing as both teams win.

HSC beats Emory 63-59

Wilson gets destroyed at RMC 36-73

Good luck to both teams today!

Jackets only allowed 8 points in the first half; that has to be some kind of record.  Most of the Jacket's minutes came from the bench, so the starters should be rested for tonight.  Sorry, Ronk.

To be precise, looking at the box score, R-MC starters played 45% of total minutes. In an average game throughout the season it's been approximately 67%. Quite likely going to need that and more tonight, including making a higher percentage of three-pointers. Scranton made a nice comeback against a good NC Wesleyan team.

Just checked the archived broadcast of the Scranton/NCW game. In the pre-game Marty Wilson mentioned that Massey ratings picked Scranton to win by one point -- exactly what happened.

really enjoyed the quality of the RMC broadcast last night. Great graphics and commentary, sometime focusing was an issue with the camera. Also appreciate I was able to watch it on demand.

Scranton has had an interesting season, many of us saw disaster ahead in January after some unexpected losses but they have been playing well. While I expect them to give RMC a bigger fight than Wilson, I have no unrealistic expectations.

To be in this position this year is a bit of a surprise...playing with house money in my opinion.
A school without football is in danger of deteriorating into a medieval study hall.

I took a trip down memory lane last night at our reception in old Gammon Gym before our game against Emory(Tigers 63-59). As a junior (H-SC '76) I remember vividly watching games against Macon. Fletcher Johnson, Paul Jez, and Paul Zuidema were so tough. Fletcher scored 2216 career points, I went to high school with Zuidema (St. Stephen's in Alexandria)- he could hold his own against anyone from the powerhouse Catholic schools like Gonzaga and St. John's; and Jez was a tremendous guard. The trio scored over 4,000 points. Macon lost to ODU in the Sweet 16 that year. Go ODAC!

Looking for EJ Mathews-Spratley to get the main defensive assignment on Josh Talbert tonight; he's the best choice physically.
The last time Scranton won the national championship('83), they were led by the coach's son(Bob and Billy Bessoir). Just saying Carl and Jackson Danzig could duplicate it this season.   ;D

Macon

Ronk, your overall thoughts on last night's games?  Any thoughts about Ashland or RMC?  I assume it's your first visit, hopefully you've been treated well.

People were outstanding(ticket taker, ticket office personnel(1 helpful man about securing tickets for tonite's game, may have been in the athletics dept), fans, talked with Josh Merkel, his parents and sister - his sister was the star of the last RMC-Scranton meeting(women's Final 4 semi(2005))). Crazies were there although subdued with the big lead in the 1st half; didn't stay for the 2nd half. Probably will be louder tonight. That's the way Scranton was during their last championship('83); just think Crenshaw with twice as many people(2800 vs 1400).
Parking was great('82's rec); could use an upgrade on the restroom facilities, though.

Glad to hear that you got some Southern hospitality.   If you haven't already done so, check out the football field, one of the newest and I think one of the better facilities in DIII.  With the football building being finished this spring, Crenshaw is getting some upgrades,  maybe including the restrooms.  No Good Luck wishes today, Go Jackets!

Macon

As to the Crazies, probably needed to get a nap in before Friday night 'activities'.  With the game in hand from the start, even watching online was not that interesting.   Clearly expecting a much more competitive game tonight.

For R-MC fans. Just saw this posted on Twitter by former Jacket player Brandon Braxton, aka (on Twitter) Stik The Tall Guy. First link is the article linked in his post. Second link is Stik's Tweet.

Agreed,  I thought RMC would have a more dominating game, but it looks like almost 50% of the second half minutes went to freshmen.   Looks like coach was trying to give game experience to the freshmen in a game with a consistent 20 point lead.

Yes, freshmen logged twice as many minutes in the second half as they did in the first. Also looks like they might be looking for Mbangue to contribute more to the scoring this season.

I went back and found this comment from November. Sure has been true the past five games.

Another dominating defensive performance by the Jackets last night.
