at this point, i'd have to split my COY vote between macedo and johnson. why macedo? well VWC is damn good htis year, a lot better than i thought they would be. i thought at times they would struggle with the loss of peter warren, but they might jsut be even better than they were this year. why bob johnson? at the beginning of the season it looked like E&H was one of the worst teams in the conference, and now they are the second hottest team in the conference behind VWC and they have done a remarkable job climbing up the stands. I'm not sure which to consider as a better coaching job, so I have to split my vote.

no way ben strong should be a candidate for POY.....I think it remains in the hands of Adair, Wansley and Sager....Once again tops in the ODAC (with strong) but much better players than strong as they prove with Sager and Wansley's inside outside game, and Adair's ability to score, reb. and lead his team to an unreal record......

strong avg. 19+ a game probably helps he is the tallest on the court, but at that height only 6 rebs a game

I'd have to say that Adair is the clear choice for POY. Wansley hasn't lived up tho his capapbilies so far this season in my opinion. Sager has definitely put up POY type numbers but he has struggled down the stretch in close games quite a few times.

Speaking of Wansley, I didn't see him listed in the stats from last night's game, so I'm guessing he did not play.  Wonder what's going on with that? :-\

they obviously didnt need him. i'd imagine he is still lingering from that injury a bit and that they want him healthy for the tournament and hampden sydney

From where did Strong and POY come?  I certainly didn't say that.  I just said I think he should be First Team ODAC.  Strong certainly has some opportunities to improve his game (he's a sophomore - he will!), but I've seen all these guys play and I think the enthusiasm for some of them is a little too rosy.  I know, let's say any DIII player over 6'8" is ineligible for First Team!  lol  To me, Adair is the 2006 POY.  Wansley's had a slightly subpar year and Sager's EMU team, just like Strong's Guilford squad, has not been a consistent winner.  I think this is a pretty reasonable email, so everyone please carefully read what I wrote before you whip back a quick impassioned reply touting your favorite.  lol :)  Peace.

I just became an all-american!  ;D
Congratulations, Scottie!  Thanks for all the "inside information" you bring to this site.  Just remember, however, someone, somewhere holds the NCAA DIII record for missed shots in a career.   Keep posting!  :)

my post wasnt in response to anything you posted....i was simply stating he shouldnt be considered...thats all..i was voicing  my opinion on POY..and i agree its def. adair....tournament MVP could go to anyone....

If Bob Johnson wins COY over Macedo there should be an investigation. Didn't VWC also get the season off to a slow start and than run the table on their last 17 or so games ? Talking about a turnaround... he got them playing better and has kept them at that high level... something that is not easy to do regardless of the talent level... E&H has gotten better but you still don't know which team is going to show up nite to nite... didn't VWC just blow the doors off of Coach Johnson and his system ?

I agree - he shouldn't get "strong" consideration.  I know POY is an individual award, but I'm in the camp that believes POY should go to someone with good stats AND who plays for a team with good overall success.  To me, the Quakers, at 11-12, 9-7, have underperformed in this area.   Despite all this, however, I still think they're a dark horse in Salem.   And you're right, POY is for the season, Tournament MVP is for three games and they're two different things.   Hopefully, the Quakers can get back on track starting Saturday afternoon.   :-\
