Cannon, Denis, Walker...was the rebound foul phantom or what...you guys were not very clear on the call!

BTW Cannon did you enjoy eliminating Roanoke or what..hehe...I think I'd like to be paid on the # of times you guys used Roanoke and eliminated in the same sentence in the postgame...nice job ;D. Nice interview with the players...well done... love those shout outs to the girlfriends...

Picks

VWC over GC - 75-68

RMC over HSC - 78-65

Hey Steely,

I think it had something to do with the article Jim linked to earlier today! ;)  I mean, Roanoke has never been eliminated in the 1st round three years in a row.  Besides that, I consider Roanoke HSC's second fiercest rival after Macon.  Besides, they may have partaken in the festivities at the
A-SC before the game and been feelin' good!  ;D

steely, it's the system, man...it's flawed :)

i was closer on 2 of the four games, and MUCH closer on the ones i lost than jacketlawyer was on the ones he lost - lawyer was -12 (vs. +1) and +36 (vs. +15) in his losses, i was +15 (vs. -8) and +13 (vs. +12) - i hope, of course, that you realize i am just kidding around and i'm really NOT bitter about my first round ouster by the #13 seed :)

jacketlawyer, good luck...i'm rooting for you from here on out!

Scottie...

E&H deserved one player considering where they finished?  By that reasoning, neither Albright nor Bienemann would have gotten anything, considering where their team's finished.  Townsend, Albright, and Bienemann were all deserving of an honorable mention award, regardless of what team they played on or where their team finished.

I agree - these are individual honors not team honors. I 've made the case before that IMHO it's harder for a good player to be successful on a poor team than on a good team. As far as E&H goes - if you can stand out in the system; then you must be pretty good.

but its also easier for bad or mediocre players to stand out on bad teams (and yes I realize this opens the door for people criticizing LC players).

I disagree - good teams should shut down the standouts on the lower level teams. The fact that they don't is my point. When everyone on the court knows who the man is it makes defense easier. Put a good player in with a solid supporting caste and they can look great.

Hats off to 3sdown.

If you win it all then Iwon't look so bad.

Good luck against --kid.

Mr. Ypsi

Steely,

The solution to the 8 in parens coming out 8) is to leave a space before the right parens.  (8 )

Or to use 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8.

narch...

I do prefer using conference only stats whenever possible to determine my opinion about who should be First Team.  However, neither the Guilford website nor the Bridgewater website had conference only stats like some other schools do.  The ODAC website does list several, but they were not listed for A/TO and steals.  And I'm not going to look up 18 conference games for that.  So the fact you did is very impressive in your calculations.  My main point, though, is this.  You can make the stats say whatever you want them to once you start doing those calculations.  And I'm sure you are aware of this.  So the fact that Strong has an advantage using your equation is skewed.

Also, I did mention how Michael played much better against the top 2 teams in the league and had more double-doubles against ODAC competition.

You are probably correct in that other factors were involved as well.  I do not think it is right when a TEAM'S won-loss record effects how an INDIVIDUAL'S award is voting on, but it happens quite a bit.  Maybe it didn't in this case.  I said the coach's know much more about it than me.

Congratulations to Ben on making First Team.  With two years left, he will no doubt get better and earn more honors.

Life will go on, although I don't know how or why.   ;)
