Congrats to Wansley as he has had a tremendous career.  Taking nothing away from him, but using his numbers lets you see how good Brandon Adair is.  He currently has 1,382 points for his career with at minimum of two more games this year and a whole season.   :o

Adair never had to play behind or with a player like Jared Mills.  Big Difference!

Doino was a good player, but nothing like Mills.  It was a bad comparison.  Adair is special, but no more special than Wansley.  Wansley is special, but no more special than Adair.  However, tomorrow the two can decide it on the floor for the ODAC Championship.

HSC and RMC game was a pretty good game...Both coaches were dismayed at some of the calls.  A couple of the calls I am not even sure what the correct call was.  A shot clock violation (and Edwards made the shot), but I am not sure it was a violation?

And then at the end the out-of-bounds call that brought it back up the full lenght of the court to give RMC a chance to win the game in regulation.  Not sure what the call should have been in that situation.  They perhaps got the call correct?  Not sure.

Kaase played his heart out, as did Edwards and Matt Green.  Kaase is going to be rough to handle the next couple of years, especially if Coach Smith can find a "tweener" that can create shots for himself and his a mid-range game.

Im pretty sure it's illegal in the NBA, but does anyone know if it is illegal to make a shot when the ball is shot from behind the basket?

Mr. Ypsi

Looks like the ODAC will have two teams, but only two teams.  If RMC wins tomorrow, 2 teams is a lock (VW would be 22-4 in-region with a QOWI among the top 3-5 among C candidates).  If Va. Wes. wins tomorrow it is not AS certain, but with RMC being 18-6 in-region and a QOWI that will probably still be among the top 10-15 C candidates, they are highly probable.  The 6 in-region losses keep them from being a complete lock.  If RMC loses, keep an eye on other tourneys - how many presumed AQs fall to the C category will determine whether they are a near-lock or a bubble team.

Just my opinion, FWIW.

It wasn't a out-of-bounds violation...Spears signaled a shot-clock violation?  At least he was tapping the top of his head!

you can shoot the ball from an angle that is behind the basket and not be out of bounds. i couldnt see the shot clock, but if what i am asking about is illegal then the ref jsut signaled the wrong violation.

It was clear the ball when over the corner of the backboard...It was shot extremely high, but Official Spears signaled a shot-clock violation.  However, it sounded like that the horn went off after the shot was in the air.

If it was a out-of-bounds call...I didn't see it b/c Official Spears was signaling a shot-clock violation by tapping the top of his head...What did others see?

1.)  Never compared Wansley to Adair, just stated Adair was special by looking at numbers

2.)  Never compared Doino to Mills, just stated that Adair wasn't the "go to guy" his freshman year

3.)  It wasn't a "bad" comparison because I never compared any player to another.

4.)  I ask again:  Can anyone make a statement w/ out someone making it an argument?  Guess not.

Maybe I will edit my first post and just simply say:
"Wow, Brandon Adair is a few points shy of 1,400 career points with a few more games this year and one more whole season.  He is a special player."

Satisfied?

Steelyglen ... I just realized that I can send you my semifinal picks from Salem by e-mail via my cell phone.  Oh, the advantages of technologies that I'm still just learning to appreciate!  If it's OK, I'd like to retract my semifinal picks until after the quarterfinals are done.  My pick of E&H to beat Guilford may turn out wrong, and I may need to choose between the Marlins and the Quakers in the semifinals, rather than between the Marlins and the Wasps.

oops...where was the e-mail by cell phone?

hmmm.somebody help me out here...do I read this right that there were no entries from mr_divac or Algernon in their quarterfinal match-up...interesting!..here's how it looks going into semi-final/finals Monday...total points today... 306

So (1) justafan02 willbattle (12) brianhamilton in the upper bracket while (10)eh...justcallmekid advances to the finals by a "do-over"!

...unless someone finds a posted predicton made by either mr-divac or algernon that Ihave missed...sorry guys...

Jacketlawyer

Macon escapes Hampden-Sydney in a hard fought game.  However, it sets up VWC for another championship.  The VWC players just sat there and watched H-S and R-M tear each other up.  Not all that different from last year. :-\

I don't think R-M matches up well with VWC.  But if they can do all that Guilford did against them, and MAKE the shots they kept missing against the Tigers, R-M can win the game.  That Guilford/Virginia Wesleyan game was good one!

So letting my loyalties take over at objectivity's expense, I submit the score for tomorrow's game:
Randolph-Macon, 90, Virginia Wesleyan 88.

I'm torn ... do I want to face the top regular season picker (justafan02) in the finals, or do I want my fellow underdog (seeding wise) to pull off the upset?

steelyglen,

How do the semis and final (for the pick 'em tourney) work?  Since I get a "bye" to the final, is it basically just the three of us against one another with our pick and score?
