Sometimes the best, and only, things you can do are congratulate the winners, learn from your mistakes and start planning for next season.  So, congratulations to the Marlins and the Jackets - either or both of you will represent the ODAC well in the NCAA tournament.  Wow, we probably should have kept putting it inside to Strong instread of forcing so many outside shots in the 2nd half!  The Quakers look to have a "strong" team in 2006-07.   Hopefully, we can get a 6'8" bruiser inside to help Ben out.  I heard we were recruiting a guard from East Davidson HS who just scored his 2000th point last week.  Go Quakers!

You're too quick - I don't always think and type well at the same time.  lol  I had already corrected my post, but I apologize for the slip.  Of course, I meant the Jackets.  Sorry.

Well, being gracious doesn't stop me from calling someone a jerk when they deserve it.

CT

and I thought Quakers were nice people who just turned the other cheek

I guess you were wrong.  Sometimes that gets old - just like a lot of other things.

CT

you mean like Guilford coming up short year after year?

hasanova...they come flying out of the woodwork don't they...or in this case out from under their rock!

Pat Coleman

I don't know if the out of bounds call on the long inbounds pass at the end of regulation was the right call (video resolution was great but not THAT great, let's be realistic), but remember this: If the receiver isn't inbounds when he touches the ball, then the ball never came in bounds and it is correct to put the ball back underneath the basket.

May I send you a shovel so you can dig this hole a little deeper?  I have no quarrel with you.  The Quakers lost today - end of story.  I'd love to talk to you more when you mature.   Good luck.

Yes.  I'm sure he's a good guy.  He just needs a few days to realize the Tigers had a fine season.  HSC has such a tradition of success, sometimes it's hard to take when things are a little down by their high standards.   I was watching championship basketball teams probably before he was born.  :)

CT, you can stereotype Guilford as losers if you like. I can stereotype students who work in the fitness center as meatheads. Does tat make you feel better?

Pat-

I agree with you...I didn't have an angle where I was sitting to make that determination.  It may have been the right call...Just not sure from where I was at...And I am not sure the officials were sure either from the way they reacted?

CT-

I am sorry you have harsh feelings towards everyone tonight...Officials don't determine the outcomes of games.  I have been there on the other side many of times and I still maintain officials don't determine the outcome of games.  They are someone easy to get mad at...And that is about it!  For example, if Macon would have lost tonight to HSC b/c HSC would have scored with 20 seconds left...Macon wouldn't have lost b/c of some official, but rather b/c Pat Gill shot the ball with 25 seconds still on the shot clock or numerous other bone head plays some Macon player would have made!  How many turnovers did HSC have?  Could/should they have prevented one of those they may have scored?  Or perhaps the phantom jump ball at the beginning of the 2nd half may have lead to an easy lay up for RMC rather RMC's ball on the sideline with HSC able to get back on defense.  See, you apparently live your life off of "what ifs."

Hasanova-

Guildford looked good today although they couldn't pull the win out.  Strong is a very good player...Snipes I thought hurt you down the stretch today, but that is just one man's opinion.  And I agree too much settling for the outside shot vs. getting it into the lane.

CT

while many were discussing today's RMC/HSC game, hasanova decided that he'd just end it when he's not part of either side and i doubt he was at the game, i haven't commented on the Guilford/VWC game, and i don't know nor care how the officiating or play was then and for someone coming from a school with less basketball success and tradition to talk about "let's just congratulate the winners" is a bit weak, congratulate them all you want and that is fine but don't say that's what everyone should do yet, i'll admit RMC had the better team this year, but today i believe HSC outplayed them and teh officials were horrendous in their calls and judgment and that hurt the team

as for Mr. Coleman,  i'm curious what the stereotype is here, i didn't say guilford was a bunch of losers, their golf team won the national title last year i believe and they're great there, but in basketball they're not that good and so it's not a stereotype to say they come up short, they do, where does the whole meathead/fitness center play into this? should i throw in a stereotype about asians or something now to continue the random stereotype comment with no bearing on anything?
