not sure what happened with that post. but thanks for answering my question. i am sure the "graders" were busy last night.
bumblebeetuna - I've done that before too - sometimes after you insert a quote you just accidentally press "post" before you meant to do so.  Since you were the post originator, you can always go back, press "delete" in the upper RH corner and start over.

No problem - it probably took me 50-60 posts to get the hang of most things - some features I still don't know!  :)

3sdown,
Thanks for graciously ansering my questions.  We have not always seen eye-to-eye on various topics but always value your opinion because you present yourself as a knowledageable follower of ODAC basketball.

I do apologize if my questions caused others to begin "dueling" with you.  That was not my intent.  I just wanted to get a perspective on a few calls I was unsure of from a RMC poster.

No, I'm sure their job was quite simple: "F."

Gotta love the passion.

The unversal truth - & this to shall pass.

Hopefully  we can look forward to your posts in the coming seasons. Hang in there and support HS early & often. At least your team was in the semi's. Mine didn't make the tourney.

If you make every game a life and death proposition, you're going to have problems. For one thing, you'll be dead a lot. Dean Smith

Thanks for the compliments...And I hope I was able to satisfy you with some of my answers.  Again, I think the game was officiated below average.  HSC just got 2-3 horrible calls at crucial times in the game...It had an affect on the game, but did not determine the game in my opinion.  And I am impressed with the way Coach Smith handles himself on the court, after the games, etc...Again, the Tigers showed that they will be a team to contend with next year, especially if they can find that "tweener" or Prehmus can develop into one.

been off the board 4 a few years..but still rooting 4 VWC...for the guys that have been on here for a few years..remember the VWC - HSC battles a few years ago....I still maintain Tim Petrillo was the best guard in the league then!

Those were some great games, with players like Petrillo, Nickerson, Yuhasz, Grimes, Fox, Harris, and Jirak on the court.

To say that Tim Petrillo was the best guard in the league is certainly quite an assertion, given that he played against the likes of All-American T. J. Grimes, Chris Fox, and Brad Dunleavy.

Hasanova, thanks for keeping at it.    ;)

The tournament's been great, all zebras aside.  A lot of close games, all out play and a lot of class on the part of the players.  And I'd even like to thank the refs for working;  without them the tournament would be a *real* mess.  I guess they might not be getting rich in a hurry doing it.

Y'all are missing the call on tonights game, though.  I project RMC to beat VWC by about 73-67.

VWC has the advantage of slightly more rest (which helped them a little bit yesterday, I think), but they don't seem to be quite playing their "A" game.  RMC will play like there is no tomorrow.

You read it here first.  Or maybe second or third.

GOOD LUCK to the MARLINS and RANDOLPH MACON tonight..I predict the Marlins by 6.  CONGRATULATIONS to the MARLINS , now ranked number#8 in the top 25 poll.

the guys doing the broadcast jsut confirmed what i thought on the mike edwards call that raised such controversy:

it is a violation to shoot the ball over the backboard.

You're welcome.  I know Ben and the other guys are a bit disappointed - yesterday was a game they were capable of winning.  It was an up and down season - hopefully they'll learn from it and play consistently well next season.  Is Ben planning any off-season camps this summer?  By the way, there was an article in Friday's Greenboro News & Record about Justin Strickland, a Senior guard at East Davidson (NC) who has scored 2045 points so far in HS.  He listed four local colleges that are recruiting him:  DIII Guilford, DIII Greensboro, DII Pfeiffer and DI High Point.  Not sure what his plans are, but sounds like a fine ballplayer.

If Guilford has a great season next year, Strong could be POY.

It may have been, I couldn't tell from my angle.  But the signal from the officials was shot clock violation.  They patted their heads.
