I know somebody out there is a Pack fan - after tonite can Sendek keep his job?

It was a great atmosphere, but the Pack couldn't get it done on Herb's birthday.

Bennerman said hey to me after the game, and I got to ride the elevator up with Brackman and Bethel.

NCSU will get it together for the ACC tourney.  I just hope they keep the 2nd or 3rd seed, so they wouldn't have to face Duke til the final.

Oh, and I got the Noel dunk with my digital camera.  I'll have if for you when I get back to VA.

eh...just call me kid: just letting you know i went to high the same high school as Cameron did before he went to Hargrave, however, i am a true blue fan of the current second place team(in the loss category) Tarheels, I've watched most of Cams games, but last night i was on the other side, good night for the Heels!!

as far as fans go, i agree to some extent down here in Greensboro. Here at GC is primarily other athlets who come out to support each other, the general student body here usaully are busy protesting some aspect of American life.

I was actually content with nice central Salem, but I want a venue where the room fits the crowd.  I guess the fit would be better in school gyms,

Nope.  The Salem Civic Center is nearly filled whenever Roanoke plays Hampden-Sydney in the finals.  That's always the best matchup for drawing fans for the finals.  The H-SC vs. R-MC finals gathers quite a crowd as well.  Even the Maroon-Tiger quarterfinals far surpasses the capacity of either of the school gyms.  On the other hand, the crowd size dwindles whenever some of the ODAC members complete--an EMU vs. Guilford game is going to give even a late comer a choice of seats.

Since the size of the crowd doesn't seem to affect the intensity of the play on the court, I'm not going to get worked up about the empty seats.  I don't imagine the empty seats had any effect on the enjoyment of the games by the thousands of people watching the video streaming of the semis and finals or the taped rebroadcast of the final.

Good morning, tigerfanalso,

Please look here and then find the Daily Dose.  The "Third Regional Ranking" story is that 3rd link under the Daily Dose section of the front page. :)

I'll just post it here ....

South
1 Mississippi College 22-1 24-1
2 Trinity (Texas) 16-2 20-5
3 Virginia Wesleyan 23-3 24-3
4 Randolph-Macon 19-5 22-5
T5. Fisk 9-4 14-10
T5. Maryville (Tenn.) 14-6 19-6
7 Howard Payne 17-6 18-6
8 Mary Hardin-Baylor 17-6 17-8

I think we're almost certainly going to see two things:

1) VWC will not get a bye, despite their 23-game win streak.  There are only 5 byes and too many teams in the country that will end the season with 2 or fewer losses.  Their early-season losses to Trinity, Salisbury, and Hampden-Sydney will keep them from getting a bye, unfortunately.  (I think Mississippi College will likely get a bye, if they win the ASC title.)  VWC will host a 4-team tournament at the Beach on March 3-4.  If they play like they are capable of playing and some other top teams fall before the sectionals, the Marlins also have a shot at hosting a sectional on March 10-11.

2) RMC will definitely get into the tournament.  Given their record, their QOWi, their #4 ranking in the South, I think it's a no-brainer.  It's just a question of how far they will travel for the first game and whether that will be on Thursday the 2nd (as part of one of the five 3-team brackets) or on Friday the 3rd (as part of one of the eleven 4-team brackets).

That's my take.  Do I understand correctly that nothing will be publicly announced until Monday morning?

Not necessarily, but their parents did.  :)

Very nice kid.  After a tough loss like that, he still greeted all the family and friends of the program after the game.  Says a lot about him.

Let's just say the elevator ride was a tad bit quiet.

All your points are very well taken.  Thanks for the perspective.  Let it roll.

And to others, thanks for the info about RMC's prospects.

I think that this group would be pleased to know that Drew Prehmus was elected, yesterday, to be the next HSC Student Body President.  (This might be of particular interest to another ODAC Student Body President, 3sdown.)

Congratulations to Drew!
