Mr. Ypsi...c'mon man I told you I went State...ifin' it ain't tractors, cows and snugglin' up with your first cousin then I pretty much glaze over  ;D but thanks for the 411...I knew a feller guru would come through for me!

baselinejam...tell the truth... do you want the 'Heels to win by 4 TD's or lose by 4 TD's today? Is Bunting in or out at season's end...or will it come down to the State game again? I'd like to see the "heels do well today myself!

shoot I was hoping for something a little more meaningful on #1000...oh well! ::)

I was hoping for better than they did. In other ACC action - I turned on the Wake game they fumbled the FG snap & turned what should have been a 17 pt lead into all 4 wheels falling off at the same time. Clemson 28 pts in the 4th qtr! That was as big a collapse as I recall seeing. Oh, did the Yankees win?
If you make every game a life and death proposition, you're going to have problems. For one thing, you'll be dead a lot. Dean Smith

Mr. Ypsi

Yanks were no-hit by Bonderman for five innings and trailed 8-0.  Tried for a comeback, but too little, too late: final was 8-3.

Go Tigers!

May the Weak Forest collapse and free fall continue in Raleigh next Saturday! 'Pack Football and the State Fair... there is no a better Saturday anywhere!

hmmm...I thought I knew the league pretty well...but yeah...count the Eagles out of it... come on up to the Valley G'boro Pride... The ODAC's whippin boys (BC & EMU) will try to field a team...;) hasanova I've got February 10th marked in red on my calendar... ;D  by the way...My 'Pack was a 10 1/2 point dog last night according to people who know the ACC "well".
Hey steely, obviously, you do know the ODAC and ACC "pretty well," but I don't remember too many folks picking the Eagles or the Royals in the top 5.   :)  I sure wasn't trying to imply they won't be improved or can't win - just stating some things rather matter-of-factly.  Speaking of NCSU, I was rooting for them hard Thursday night.  I'm old enough that I remember when Evans Sr was playing!  :)   Feb. 10 - is that in Greensboro or at BC?

Steely - congrats on 1000 posts! I think you get a free gift from Coleman ::)

You can have mine.   It's an autographed 8x10 glossy of Pat drinking a caffeinated beverage and poring over boxscores at 3 am!  :)  Just kidding, Pat!

hasanova...just havin' some fun buddy!  :D But the Eagles are led by one fine coach so never count them out of anything. February 10th is at BC...I should be in G'boro for the game there, but BC has not played well in Ragan-Brown recently. But the Pride comin' to the Valley...now that's a different story!

Sheesh.. I remember Evans Sr. when he was at HP Andrews...now my back hurts...dammit! ;D

by the way.. I have shared a beer with the Great One myself (sir Patrick) and he's great company...but you can keep the photo... ;D

Actually, I have no 8x10 photo of Pat, but I do have some beer in the fridge.  Life is still good.  :)

Yep, I know.  :)  If you decide to make the trip to Greensboro for the BC game, let me know and I'll be sure I'm there.  Do anything you want with the Pride - one of my neighbors is an insufferable Greensboro alumnus from NJ and I can only keep him quiet for a day or two tops if we beat them.  lol

had a high school teammate (Greg Osteen) who played at Greensboro College while a guy I played against (Bill Chambers) coached there...but make no mistake, the object is toy with them for 2 days (EMU one night and the Eagles the next) and make them want to start a football program in lieu of sinking any more money into hoops!

I'll certainly drop you a line prior to the trek up 40 West to Friendly and Guilford college Road. A quickie stop at Libby Hill's (old childhood haunt) will preceed our grand entrance into Ragan Brown .A certain former ODAC POY will likely maKe the roadie with me. He never turns down a free lunch!

Sounds like a plan.  I'm sure you know the Libby Hill moved about a mile away when they built the Gate Station on the corner.  Right?  By the way, were Greensboro College teams once called the Hornets?  A friend of mine says they have always been the Pride and I say no, they were the Hornets when I was in college at Guilford.  Please help me settle this "discussion."  lol

steelyglen

hasanova...you are absolutely correct. GC became the Pride some years ago but they were indeed the Hornets "back in the day". That's one of the problems with sports today...history is seemingly defined as occurrences in the mid-90's (thanks ESPN...for nothing). I fear the crotchety ole geezer that has always been buried inside, has finally, and soundly I might add, whipped the ass of the younger-hip dude that I always wanted to be and has surfaced!

Gotcha on the re-location. Ms. Steelyglen's mom lives off of Lake Brandt Road close the Guilford Battleground Park...so its only a hop skip and a jump to Calabash heaven whenever we make the trek to in-lawville!

Our friends at Street & Smith have placed the Marlins in the 3rd position in their pre-season poll. Dave Macedo's response is interesting. See release at VWC site.
