Baselinejam...can anything (including a win over State) save Buntcakes now? Last night was just awful!

Hell no - but even something worse hangs over the horizon - they could lose to dook.

I do hear that it difficult to coach a team when you are constantly interviewing for your next gig.

Just based on who's returning, I'm picking the:

Top 2- HSC& VW

The middle 5 - E&H,GC, R-M, RC, W&L

Bottom 3 - B'water, EMU, Lburg

(each line is in alphabetical order)

I'll fine tune before the season starts ;)

Today's Roanoke Times carried a story about Bob Johnson's renewed fight with cancer.

I'm sure all of you join will join with me in praying for his complete recovery.

Bob Johnson is one of the truly good guys in college basketball. Every time VWC would play E&H, home or away, he would always say hello to Carol and me. Bob is a real gentleman who we wish all the best to for a speedy recovery.

A little early, but would like to know what R-M is looking at as far as their new recruits, and their season preview.  And what's the buzz on replacing Wansley, if such a thing can be done. . . . . ? ::)

Thanks for the link, Jim.  I have talked with Bob a few times over the years and have always enjoyed that.  He's a great teacher and coach.  We'll be thinking of him.

I'm surprised more posters haven't weighed in with info on their favorite teams. Where the heck is >? No Loesel! No EMU. No RMC. Where is everybody?

Still a little early yet, just began reading the D3 hoops boards today.  But back for another season of fun!

How many of you subscribe to DIII News? According to a VWC release today, DIII News has picked VWC as #1 in a preseason poll. RMC is #12.

????? ??? ?????

Haven't heard anything about it.

Hey Steely -

Its bye bye Bunting! That guy had a state of the art set up in the southern part of heaven. The Wall St. Journal ranks UNC as #13 in impact players in the NFL. How could he fail so miserably?

Well, there's Miami and Virginia Tech and Boston College and Florida State ... and Wake Forest in the Top 25!   It's not your father's ACC.  Carolina does have the resources and the (potential) fan support.  It's a shame no one now seems to make it work!  Mack Brown, where are you when they need you?  lol

There are two new men's basketball assistant coaches at Guilford.  It's interesting to note that highly-recruited guard Justin Strickland's head coach at East Davidson (NC) HS, Matt Ridge, is joining him with the Quakers.  Still no roster posted, however.

Hasanova, R-M plays at Guilford on January 27th at 2:00.  Planning NOW to make the trip and get the Hasa tour of Guilford. ;D
