Well emu lost another nail biter to SU... 3 yrs and a total of 6pts combined in 3 losses seperates emu from 0-3 and 3-0..... it was a great game SU is super athletic and have two all americans on their team, but SAGER was the best player on the court.... he had 27pts and 17 rebs...time winding down and emu a chance to win. lyons penetrates and kicks to sager for three..... the three goes in but the buzzer sounded as the pass left lyons hand...... the refs were what you could expect on the road, su shot 28 free throws to emu's 14.......SU will do well if they can keep their team together and play well as a team..... EMU is so young with as many as 4 freshman on the court at one time, it was a great game to watch...keep playing hard and together emu and you will do fine this year......

E&H only scored 120.  It must have been on off night, or maybe it was a defensive struggle.  ;)

Attended the HSC game last night. As expected, the Tigers do not live up to all the preseason hype. The national ranking is not deserved. They will do well to finish 3rd or 4th in the ODAC. Still relying too much on Kasse, Kasse still has no help under the basket, Prehemus still not getting enough shots on goal, defense is still average at best and they are not a great rebounding team. Team speed average at best. Team chemistry unchanged from last year. All that said, I assume they will get better as the season matures but can they improve enough to be a real factor in the ODAC or will RMC and VWC still own them ? Only time will tell !!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, it was just too hard to go this week.  Periodically, I have to hold some employee meetings with all three shifts and yesterday was the day.  I heard it was 39 all at the half and Guilford actually had the lead at 64-62, but faltered down the stretch.  Most of Guilford's team this year are freshmen, so I expected Greensboro to be a better team.  I should be at the men's game next week - I plan to go.

early returns from Lexington have the Gennies playing very well in the frontcourt -- this could be the year that Femi and Bienemann establish themselves as the one of the best forward tandems in the ODAC.  The concern, as it has been sometime with W&L, is rebounding & TOs.

Femi has established himself as a consistent 12 & 8 guy when healthy, but Greg has never been overly huge on the glass.  Will Alex White be healthy enough all season to work the boards, or will Hutch have to rely on more of a roleplayer like Ben Heller?

Halkitis shouldn't feel as much pressure to make shots this year with a more well rounded offense, so hopefully this means he can primarily focus on protecting the ball along with the other W&L guards.

Very excited to see W&L play at EMU in the coming weeks -- the Royals are one of the 2 remaining ODAC teams I haven't seen play at home.

Gotta get back into the swing of things -- it's tough to feel as involved or knowledgeable since I'm no longer residing in Lex Vegas!!

What's the other team?

only other place I've never been = The Fleet Center.

and by the way, I stand corrected -- thanks to some helpful stats someone has sent me, Bienemann's good on the boards.  Greg, if you read this, sorry bud.

Is anyone going to the VW - Averett game? I'm a little nervous picking VW here. Especially after they squeaked by in their 1st game. Averett is quick and they have a decent big guy. Some of the ref's at the W&L scrimmage were overheard saying that "Averett should make some noise this year - they're a good team".

I am not nervous at all...VWC all the way....  The Marlins shot poorly against CPU but I think they will be on target for this one.  The first game of the season is always a toss up.  After the Marlins regroup , I believe they will come away with a win against Averett.  Go Marlins!
