I was at the game tonight.  Wow ... excellent job by the Eagles!

I think Michael, Drewer, and Fox are going to give some ODAC teams a fit in the post.  Oblitey is an excellent looking freshman.  If he turns into our point guard like Leatherman wants (he's 6-5) that'll be tough to guard.  Maupin looked was great handling the ball and shooting the three.  I think he was 3-for-5 from behind the arc tonight ... and that's with a 6-5 or taller defender on him.  JMU had a nice 6-7 shooting guard, phew!  Cathlin also looked real nice.  Butler will be out workhorse ... he did a lot of dirty work that won't show up in the box score.

Again ... well done tonight by the Eagles!  Once the football season is over, I'll be heading on over to this board and following the Eagles all season!  Planning on going to all the home games this year ... this will be an exciting bunch to watch grow!

How did Josh Fox do?

As I was riding home, I think I heard Fox finished 2-for-8 from the floor, grabbing a couple boards.  He was impressive.  Once of his made FGs was a three.  Reminded me of a skinny Williford (what's up steelyglen?!  It's been awhile!).

I know Clay Michael had at least 23 points and shot 7 of 12 from the field for BC.

There was some interesting convo by both coaches after the game. Leatherman said that JMU took it easy on us by playing 8 guys double figure minutes. Keener said I wanted to play alot of other guys more and the starters less but didn't want to chance a loss and thereby loss of momentum for his Dukes. JMU opens at home against Georgetown. I suggest they start preparing now.

The radio guys also said that JMU would scrimmage EMU next year and possibly Ferrum the year after. They then mentioned that they wouldn't want to be Kirby Dean after the BC performance this year. Kirby was at the game and I spoke to him afterward, JMU in 2006 is not on his radar. He is just looking to get the Royals ready for a run this year. Should be a fun year in the ODAC and for the Eagles. These young guys will make mistakes but come January or Feburary they should be ready to turn some heads.

mr_divac...a "whirlie"? I should have known. By the way, in your 4 years on the "dark side", did you ever figure out what the hell a "whirlie" is?  ::)And is "Tiger Rag" still the fight song? A Whirlie, a 'Heel and a Quaker, I believe that is 3 strikes against you mr_divac...you may be seated ;D
I believe "Whirlies" at Greensboro Grimsley HS is short for "Whirlwinds."  They use one of those little funnel clouds for a symbol.  Either way, it's one of the more unusual nicknames around.  lol

Maybe we could set up an In-Game Updates discussion topic under the general ODAC Conversation discussion topic, as we had last year during the season.  I don't know how to do it and wonder if Pat's the only one who can set it up.

Good start for Bridgewater's big men, particularly Michael. All eyes will be on him this year. Guess Glover didn't play at all. Is he injured?

nice article in the Harrisonburg paper about last night's Bridgewater exhibition game.

Good to hear that the Eagles came to play and that the effort was good. Wasn't there but from the boxscore...held JMU to 43%FG & was not terribly outrebounded (35-30)... apparently took right to the Dukes as evidenced by 24 trips to the FT line. Clay Michael was solid (once again) and people can go ahead and hype Wansley and Adair and Sager for POY ( they are all deserving candidates) but Clay Michael will be part of that conversation come February. Nice to see Matt drewer step up. Hope he can provide some frontcourt depth along with Michael, Fox and Butler. Maybe the backcourt will be in good hands if Maupin, Oblitey and Cathlin can continue to progress.

Remember it was ONLY an exhibition but certainly some positives came out last night. Now just begin to build and keep choppin' wood Coach Leatherman.

"eh, kid" ...good to hear from you and it has been awhile. Thanks for the first hand report. I'm counting on you to be my eyes and ears around Nininger Hall this season.A "skinny Williford", eh? Let's just hope he's a solid Josh Fox and helps the Eagles contend! Good luck to the gridiron Eagles this weekend as they pusue another trip to Salem!

hasanova...that's no fun! I was waiting to see if mr_divac knew who he played for! ;)

Has to have been a thrill for Andrew Cathlin to play against his brother last night.

good question JWW..."eh,kid" did Glover see any minutes? Saw his name in the boxscore but was covered with zero's, so not sure if he played and just didn't scratch or did not play? What's the 411?
By the way"kid" very attractive significant other there. you are in Way OVER YOUR HEAD! ;D

Yeah, he got in ... but was a bit shaky with the rock.  Box has him for three minutes, and if I recall correctly, those minutes came in the first half.

Phew, you're tellin' me!  She's a doll.  Asked the big Q over a month ago (thank goodness she said yes!).  She's a big supporter of my craze for Bridgewater football.  After seeing the basketball team against JMU (I wasn't too impressed versus Fork Union a couple weeks back), I think my obsession for Bridgewater sports will bleed on over to the bball squad!

Only difference will be no www.bridgewaterbball.com ;)

interesting to see that bridgewater played some zone. i don't recall having seen much zone in our ODAC games last year.

Congrats Matt! You get a +karma for snaggin'  her! Nice work!

We need you need here my friend. I'm a fan of obsession myself! No website... come on man you don't enough to do as it is now! Its not like the football website or the little woman keeps you busy or anything. What got me was the "Commissioner of the D3 Fantasy Football League". Now there's obsession!

Yeah ... I mean, having a five-year relationship (long distance - she's at Duke) and having a football fan site is time consuming ... but nothing like the Division III fantasy league was ... PHEW!

But it was fun to conduct with the nine football gurus that partook!  So well worth it!
