Quote from: Pat Coleman on December 12, 2006, 03:18:56 AMBTW, if Hasanova has really left the board, that's the first time I think someone has quit in a huff over karma when they're in the 80 range. That's cutting off your nose to smite your face.
Good morning, Pat.  We have never met - and I hope we do soon - but your characterization of this situation is off the mark.  I sincerely did not, as you surmised, "quit in a huff."  Actually, I don't do anything in a "huff."  lol  I am genuinely grateful to all the posters who find my posts worthy and sincerely interested in the concerns of posters who find my posts unworthy.  All in all, however, karma seems superfluous to me and I honestly wish it didn't exist on this board.  It does exist, however, so be it.  The karma is not the real issue - I am simply taking a temporary break from a pattern where some person(s) feels the need to smite every 18 hours even when my comments are positive and supportive.  The three this morning, for example, came when I wasn't even posting!  :)  Perhaps they were simply spurred by your posts.  Pat, I understand we live in a fast-paced electronic, in-your-face society, but I simply came from a time when life was more measured and a place where humility always trumped hubris.  I tell my friends I am an analog man trapped in a digital world.  An anachronism.  lol  Nothing more, nothing less.  I'll be back again, but not until it's what I want to do.  Peace and Happy Holidays to you.

I liked the star method of rating posts better.  The current method allows those who are so motivated to continually berate a particular poster that they don't like.  It's not as good as the old "starring a post" method was.

Kudos to Nova. He gets my star this morning!

Hasanova would have mine, too, except that "Sorry, [ I] can't repeat a karma action without waiting 24 hours."

Or perhaps they don't read the board every day and just came across some old posts.

For someone who thinks karma is superfluous, you sure waste a lot of bandwidth talking about it and brainpower keeping track of it.

And yes, as was noted, it's 24 hours, not 18.

VWC's Brandon Adair needs 16 points to break Rick Chalk's 1990-1994 1,666 all-time Marlin scoring mark. Brandon will probably get the points on Saturday vs. NNAS. Good luck Brandon!

j dub, yes i believe containing fox is big, but not as big as keeping the other post and the new fresh. from going off! if one player has a good game we can still win, it two or three do, thens its over

jdubyadubya

SF - you will note, however, that Fox is the go to guy, the spark. Everyone feeds off him...if he's on, watch out, if he's contained, you have a chance. Good luck.

jdub...is there a new Josh Fox at BC...big I'll give you...a banger he's anything but! A wing guard in a 6-8 body! Bill Leatherman wishes he was a banger! Nice player ,nice young man...I hope the Royals will devote their entire defense to stopping Fox..I like the Eagles chances even better then!
Go Eagles!

jdubyadubya

Steely - I thought Fox played respectably vs. the Marlins. Maybe this is another Fox, as you said. He was a presence inside. Maybe he just got up playing against Adair but I was somewhat impressed by his performance that night.

I'm picking EMU to win a very competitive game in the EMU-Bridgewater matchup.  Not too confident about the pick, though.  :'(  I think maybe EMU will have a team rebounding advantage that will make a difference.
