Steely--

Missed Tuesday's game, but oh well...I would have picked against HSC anyway!  So not picking prevented me from incurring an additional loss!  Here are my picks for the rest of the dates...

Saturday, December 16
Eastern Mennonite at Bridgewater
Virginia Wesleyan at Apprentice School

Sunday, December 17
Methodist at Randolph-Macon

Bonus Games on Saturday December 16
Frostburg State at Christopher Newport
Mary Washington at Shenandoah
Chicago at Illinois Wesleyan

EMU loses to BC by a score of 90-77.

Any details about the game would be great.  How does EMU give up 90 pts to BC?

Brandon Adair sets school career scoring record with 19 points giving him 1,670 for his career.

Congratulations to Adair on setting the school scoring record.  With so many games left to play this year he should be able to seperate himself quite a bit from number two.  Guilford with 3 votes for the top 25.  I feel like it should be more but am happy that their stellar play is being recognized on some level.  Maybe with a couple more non conference wins over the Holidays they can sneak in.  We will see.

FISHTANKFAN

Way to Go Brandon!!  You have helped make the Marlins one of the best teams in the country.  You have shown yourself to be an unselfish leader on the court and one of the finest examples of how to win in a very classy way.  Congratulations on becoming the highest scoring Marlin ever, and good luck the rest of the season!!! 1670 and counting.....

It looked like EMU fairly well stopped Josh Fox, so that theory is down the drain.
17 - 12 on turnovers might tell part of the story;  11 steals for Bridgewater sounds llike part of the story.
Nice balanced scoring by EMU.
Nice bench scoring for Bridgewater.
Sounds like freshman guard Trawick played out of his mind for Bridgewater.

Congratulations to Brandon for his years of deconstructing ODAC defenses with his deceptive moves.

Trawick going 19 for 19 from the Foul Line was huge for BC.

Sounds like Methodist beat Randolph-Macon in a close game.  I think towards the end, RMC had trouble controlling the ball.  Good luck to RMC in their rebuilding process this year (except when they play a certain OCAC team).

I would also like to add my congratulations to Brandon Adair. He's a fine player.  I wish the Marlins all the best for a successful and enjoyable holiday tournament in Texas.

Nice win by Bridgewater over the weekend. Stopping Josh Fox, as I said last week will not secure a victory against BC. This is one of the most athletic teams Bill Leatherman has had at BC in a long time. Dominic Trawick (35 points & 3 steals) is the real deal...as EMU should have seen a couple of weeks ago in their own place. Michael Oblitety (12 points 4 assists & 3 steals) is long and a physical speciman. Andrew Catlin (10 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals) is quickly becoming one of my favorite Eagles. A hustling machine, he is giving the Eagles some quality minutes. Matt Drewer (14 points 5 rebounds) is a nice inside presence and when he can stay on the floor he can bang with anyone. This game was decided in a 71/2 minute stretch ending the first half and beginning the second. At 31-30 with 5:52 left in the first half, Bridgewater went on a 24-6 run in which EMU committed 6 turnovers and got off only 3 shots. Defense (as usual) won this one.
As a nice reward the Eagles go to Las Vegas for a couple of games. This team is still young and will be inconsistent but they showed (at least for one night) what's ahead and the future is bright!!!

Onto the Pick'ems... WEEK 5 IS IN THE BOOKS

Nobody ran away with it this week as 5 gurus etched out 5-2 marks. Led by Algernon, who slipped back into sole possession of first place with his 5-2 week, brianhamilton, jimmy, llamaguy and jacketlawyer also improved their records with 5-2 weeks.
