Didin't see it posted ..maybe I  missed it...Bridgewater dropped its second straight, losing to Desales University 63-45. BC hit 37% from the floor (16-43).  Up 10-9 with 51/2 minutes to play in the first half (that had to be painful to watch) DeSales went on a 19-5 run to closeout the half up 28-15. They hit a 3-pointer to start the second half and the route was on.

Clay Michael led BC with 13 points and 6 boards. Josh Maupin added 9 while Matt Drewer and Josh Fox added 8 each. 19 turnovers against 10 assists is a point of emphasis this week. But this is a very young team withlots of new pieces that must find their way into the puzzle. It will take time. After Dec. 3rd better days are ahead.

the offensive performance was beyond horrible in that game! not indicativge of the normal performance because Andy rarely ever turns the ball over 7 times and Sweeney is a 40% shooter.

In the second game of the season, Andy turned it over 6 times and Sweeney only shot 12.5%.

they have proven over their career that they are better than that. Want me to bust out all the stats for you?

A so so weekend for the E&H Wasps.  Dropped the opener to #16 John Carroll 137-127.  Was a 2 point game at halftime, Wasps are whistled for more than 30 more fouls than the Streaks.   The second game was all Wasps as they trailed in the first minute but that would be it as they cruised to 139-122 victory, and by looking at the box score everyone appeared to see some action.  Looking forward to this weekend where the Wasps play in their own tournament featuring #3 ranked College of Wooster.

Scottie,

EMU will do live stats for all home games as well as an internet broadcast.

They will also broadcast select games on the road including all tournament games.

Here is the link to the projected schedule:

Scottie - W&L does a web radio broadcast. I don't know about stats.

Roanoke snoozed through the first half against Ithaca, maybe because they were a little tired from yesterday's barnburner against Springfield.  About 8 minutes into the second half they finally decided it was time to play basketball.  They turned up the pressure on defense and worked the ball inside to LaPorte, Peery and Diggs.  Josh LaPorte only had two points at the half but wound up with 15 points and 14 rebounds.  Josh also hit some key free throws down the stretch.  So did Keith Carter, who had missed some yesterday.  Jared Butler played a steady game, with 17 points and 5 steals.  The result was a satisfying 68-64 win, to go 2-0 against some quality competition.

E&H plays Thomas More Saturday night.  Anyone have a scouting report on Thomas More.  Also in the tournament is Wooster and Methodist.  Any information on any of these teams is appreciated.

Big weekend for the Tigers and Maroons, both winning against teams from the Northeast at the Bast Center.  The HSC - Roanoke games promise to be good ones this year!

Looks to me like the ODAC is "loaded" this season, with the likes of the Tigers. Yellow Jackets, Royals, Maroons, and Marlins.  And I think that the Wasps can pull a surprise on any given night, given that they're playing quite a different game.

The Tigers are looking very good at this point in the season.  They're not so young anymore, with 2 seniors (Guill, Lewek), 3 juniors (Edwards, Forrester, Green), and 3 sophomores (Prehmus, Kaase, Murray) getting most of the playing time.  Good to see Byron Lawton get some playing in a tough matchup against Springfield today.

ODACfan1,
See post 467 on the NCAC board for Scotsfan's perspective on the tourney.  Wooster basketball team will be very tough, and you will have the weight of David Collinge's posts to counter as well. :)

algernon,
The Maroons appreciate the gift of A.J. Dowell.   He has made a nice addition to the back court.  In my opinion, Roanoke doesn't match up well in the post with Hampden-Sydney this early in the season, but with a little seasoning of the freshmen...

Mrs. Warren and I just returned from the weekend at the beach. Peter rec'd his 1000 point ball before the VWC - Trinity match up Friday evening. Here are my early observations about 05/06 Marlin basketball: Four starters are playing at less than 80% collectively because of off season injuries and surgeries...Towell at about 55%, Fitch at about 78%, Fantin at 75% and Adair at 80%. Guard play looks good, perimeter shooting needs a lot of work. Balenga was cold on Friday but heated up on Saturday along with Fantin and Fitch. Fantin is absolutely deadly from the top of the 3 point arc. Trinity reminded me of York College. Good old fundamental basketball will get you every time. Trinity was very patient and the coach worked the clock beautifully. They came out after the half and doubled up Adair and then started to pick the Marlins apart. Made us look bad, frankly. Macedo got the boys together for a rather lengthy practice on Saturday morning. Sunday afternoon's game against NC Wesleyan was a different story. Good inside and out game, what the Marlins are capable of doing day in and day out. Should be an interesting season.
