Algernon - I think your "trophy" is being presented to you at halftime of the championship game on Sunday...at least that's what I hear ;D

JWW,

Thanks for letting me know.  I was getting a bit worried about the moonpie in particular ..... and it's a relief to know when my taste buds will be satisfied.

I certainly hope that you'll stay for the presentation, even if the Tigers eliminate the Marlins in the semifinal on Saturday .....   :D

"jimmy" my obligation is done!

steelyglen .... I really appreciate the work you've done to keep the pick'ems going this season, despite the dictatorial movement of that piece of our discussion to a separate board.  Thanks!!!!

My only concern is that no one has notified me who is going to deliver my RC and Moonpie ..... and how long they will take to arrive.  Where is Stan Bright these days?  Will Scottie be able to finally take care of this kind of simple task?  My taste buds are talking and my stomach is starting to growl .....

NO tourney this year?  Last year I took the regular season crown but wasn't awarded because I was knocked off in the tourney.  What's the deal?   :-[

I agree...I missed out on 9 games that could have helped me win it...We need a postseason

Mr. Nova, yes I still ocassionally will post.  I read everyday but only post when I want to express my opinion.  As far as the tourney goes I think most of the games could go both ways.  If VA Wesleyan and Guilford play decent they should both easily win, but you never know in the ODAC.  I predict they will both win by a large amount.  I also think that Emory and Henry will beat Sydney which will result in a very interesting round two matchup between EandH and VA Wes.  I think Roanoke has proved they are a tough team and have been very well coached, but I think the experience of Macon will show in the first round as they barely pull off the minor upset.  I think Page Moir should get some considerable respect and some votes for coach of the year.  I believe coach of the year will go to Tom Palombo though, as it should.  I think the Quakers have blown away people's expectations and I hope to see them continue in their success.  Good luck to all fans come tourney time.

Thought you ODAC fans might get a kick out of this.  ;D

Just logged on to catch the H-SC / E&H game. When I couldn't connect I started to kick into panic mode. Just as I was reaching for my Xanax, I realized today was Wednesday.  :o  WHEW!!  Long week.  What I really need is a beer.  8)

GO TIGERS!!

Congratulations to Ben Strong for Player of the year and Tom Palombo for coach of the year.  Both very well deserved in my opinion.  Now enough with awards lets play!

STH sends this WLU link to the board.  My congratulations also to all the winners from every ODAC member school.

I agree, cooper, I'm ready for some hoops!

Thanks, coopersharpe, its nice to have someone with connections on the board.

Congratulations to Ben and Tom.

Congratulations to Ben Strong, ODAC POY, and Tom Palombo, ODAC COY.  I don't understand some of the second team and honorable mention selections, but that's OK.

Only 14 hours until the first tournament game.  Good fortune to all (except opponents of the Tigers)!

A player from Emory gets screwed...imagine that...Macon finishes 6th and has a first teamer and 2 second teamers.  2 players on second team average under 10ppg while Reasbeck gets 15 a game for a 4th place team and gets left out...I guess the system hurts chances at individual awards, but I dont think anyone can argue that Reasbeck is not a legit 2nd team all conference player, and could be a legit first teamer in a "regular" system.

I am not one of these warm and fuzzy / everybody should feel good kind of people but I have never been a fan of individual awards in a team sport. It has always been subjective and political to some degree and always will be. I would venture that more times than not, when these awards are given, someone that is deserving gets left out. Welcome to LIFE 101. Any player or coach worth their salt would trade a hundred individual awards for one team award anyway.
I know a guy that played baseball in the ODAC many years ago that's resume clearly should have put him on the first team AC. He was relegated to the second team because he played on a 12 and 21 ball club. He turned out to be a reasonably well adjusted contributor to society. I did hear him mumble the statement below one time. Not sure what he meant.

"It was all that Dan Marino's fault, everyone knows that. If he had held the ball, laces out, like he was supposed to, Ray would never have missed that kick. Dan Marino should die of gonorrhea and rot in hell."  ;D ;D

But because he was from the ODAC, he didn't offer to tear his lips off.

Congratulations to Coach Tom and Ben. Well done! Now, let's play some basketball and see how good they really are.
