Ok ODAC junkies...the 05-06 ODAC Pick'em is about to roll out. For you newbies to the board it is very simple. Our resident Pick'em Guru "Jimmy" will select a myriad of games ...could be just a couple, could be 15 or so...maybe all D3 maybe throw in something else (D1...football...whatever he chooses). You "pick'em"...straight up..no points or kickers. Best winning percentage at season's end takes home the RC and Moopies...unless Scottie decides to try and slip in some weak imposter again this year! Winner is declared "ODAC PICK'EM GURU" for the year and gets absolutely nothing else for his/her trouble.

At season's end we will have our Guru NCAA tournament. More about that later but it is invitation only and a chance to pick head to head against other wannabe guru's. You must pick at least 75% of the games during the season to be considered eligible for this prestigious title. Each week you may post your "pick'ems" on the board or e-mail them to me prior to game time for the first game of each day. Anything receieved after game time will be booted into cyber-space. I will tally the results and post them every week.1

Jim please start with games this weekend so as to give everyone a chance to stretch out their brains. Good luck guru's and may the moonpies be with you.

jdubyadubya...word on the street was that Fitch was at 76.939% so your observation of 78% was very encouraging  ;D

It's early and sounds like every ODAC team has some kinks to work out...(some more so than others (cough, cough, BC, cough, cough!)

78% ?! JWW, what are you, terrell owens now?! For those who are wondeirng what I mean, a few years ago TO said he was playing a game at 97%

LC looks to rebound (no pun intended, although we have done a good job at it so far!) tomorrow against a tough Averett squad who returns almost every (if not every) player from last year's vastly improved squad. They lost this weekend to Macon by 25 points and apparently played no defense, giving up 105 points and macon shot over 60% in the game.  They then rebounded yesterday to handle Arcadia.  Hopefully we'll be able to avenge a loss last year at their place.  Surely having Manos, Prior, and Reed for the game this time will help. I look for this to be a fairly close game that will come down to coaching and whos in foul trouble and whos not! I predict we win by 5. Hopefully the team will be able to back up my assertions this time!

The Maroons appreciate the gift of A.J. Dowell.   He has made a nice addition to the back court.

Jim,
A.J. definitely makes a nice addition to your back court.   By the end of the season last year, he was getting 20-25 minutes a game for the Tigers.  Scored 11 points against the Maroons in the Tigers' late regular season loss.  What a hustler on the court!

Perhaps the Maroons can return the favor with a "gift" of their own to the Tigers ....  ;)

Does anyone happen to know what the deal is with Greg Bienneman? H escored 26 points or something like that against VMI, and then he only averages 18.5 minutes a game and 4 points a game over the weekend. I would have thought he would ahve gotten more PT and scored a lot more than that considering how he did against VMI...

jdubyadubya

We live in a world of percentages. I'm only doing my part to uphold it.

Hutchinson played a pretty big rotation this weekend and gave significant PT to a lot of new faces.  That could be one explanation for Greg not playing as much.

damn Jim... don't I even get an exhibition schedule to stretch out the abacus...a 15 gamer out of the gate  :o

Dixie guys ( oops..some habits die hard) are always welcome! Glad to have you in the house!

steelyglen

new thought...this years "pick'em" will be determined by points...+1 point for a correct pick ...-1 for an incorrect pick..Most points wins...that way no percentages, no 75% minimum...pick what you want when you want...Most points wins...also it will allow me to choose bonus games from time to time which will be worth more points...maybe a 3 point game one week or a five point game sometime...bigger the game the higher the point value...

Any thoughts or comments..like it - hate it?
