Sounds like you might be a little defensive. How in the name of God can you read my email and think that is downgrading the b'ball team. I said the Tigers have six good players returning and that Green & Edwards were the best two guards and will need to be replaced. I thought people would understand I was referring to the 1 & 2 positions since that is were they played and I referred to that later in my post, but you come back telling me that Prehmus and King are guards. I know that but they don't play the point nor the #2 position typically as they spend most of their time at the 3 & 4 positions. I know the Tigers are going to be pretty good next year and I also know who is coming back and how good they are and I mentioned that BUT I think we still need a good recruiting class particularly at the 1 & 2 positions and I also think Guilford is going to be difficult for the Tigers to handle. They were this past year and they have alot coming back.

If that opinion is downgrading the Tigers so be it, I don't see it that way at all and it certainly was not meant to be !!!!

Tigerfanalso .... "Sounds like you might be a little defensive" is a way overused line, and often is an attempt to put the other person on the defensive.  I don't want to get into an argument of that type.

I think your explanation makes your first post less confusing. Thanks for that.

I also think you have underrated the Tigers on various occasions, even if you don't mean to.  Since you are a Tiger fan, I'm sure that you're pleased that you underrated them when you said on February 5:

"With another tough week ahead of them the Tigers are quickly heading towards 5th, 6th or 7th place in the ODAC regular season with little or no hope of making any noise past the first round of the tourney. For the 4th year in a row, unless a miracle occurs in Salem, the Tigers will not be in the NCAA's. I don't know the answer, but when was the last time the Tigers went four years without an NCAA invitation? Hopefully things will improve next year !!!!"

Never said I have not underrated the Tigers ... I simply asked how my post yesterday could be construed as being negative.

I don't really get your point regarding my Feb. 5th post but yes, I'm certainly glad HSC won the ODAC...  if you care to see my 2/26 post.

Hope to hear good news soon regarding the recruiting classes for f'ball and b'ball.

Hey tiger & alger...what are you guys doing? We Tiger fans are supposed to be sticking together and picking on the Marlins or Macon!  Heck... since football is just around the corne...lets pick on Bridgewater! That bunch has been kinda quiet lately. ;D ;D

Not picking on anyone ! Just responding to post directed my way.
I'd never get into a heated debate with a fellow Tiger fan; not a serious one anyway.

As far as picking on the Marlins ... don't even bring that up again as they will not let it go. Picking on the Eagles during f'ball season might not be that wise either BUT could be fun !!!!

Yeah....you are probably right. But I thought since our beloved Tigers can't seem to beat them on the gridiron ...might as well pick on them. What ever happened to the good ole days when you could put one in the W column before the season even started?  ;D I thought too it might lure skoal out of hiding. I think he must be lost in the Lynchburg jungle.  :D BTW...you don't happen to know who won the baseball DH against the Eagles last Saturday do you?  ;D ;D

As you know, the days when HSC expected to beat Bridgewater are long gone.... but I like what I hearing about the new defensive coach(s). I think things are going to improve and I'm looking forward to it. New stadium, new defense, more great offense ... and all the usual refreshments associated with f'ball. Can't wait !!! Maybe, just maybe we can get lucky and beat Bridgewater !!!!

If you make every game a life and death proposition, you're going to have problems. For one thing, you'll be dead a lot. Dean Smith

Tigerfanalso - what do you mean "picking on the Marlins." I'll drop any future comments right now by saying that you better watch out because VWC is going to have a hell of a football team this year.  :) ;D :o ::)

I'm putting our 2 cents worth into a table, including my own predictions:

My picks

1.  GC
2.  HSC
3. VWC
4. RC
5. RMC if Rhoades is back, W&L if not
6.  W&L if Rhoades is back, E&H if not
7.  E&H if Rhaodes is back, BC if not
8.  BC if Rhoades is back, RMC if not
9. LC
10. EMU

Obviously, I think Rhoades means a lot to Macon.  I also think that HSC could end up #1, but I have to give the edge to GC right now.  Having said that, I think that GC must either have someone step up to replace Snipes or have a freshmen come in and be an impact player if GC is going to end up #1.  Of course, with Strong, they will be in almost every game.  VWC could also take first place if they get a monster recruiting class (which is possible with back-to-back National Championship appearances), but replacing Adair is problematic.  I also think that losing Sager to graduation really hurts EMU and allows LC to move out of last.  The hardest positions to project were 5-8.  I really have trouble with E&H because they lost so much, but I feel that they could finish as high as 4th again because they create a lot of problems for other teams.  BC was also problematic for me.  I think they have a good nucleus of returning players but they will have to have a freshmen step in and contribute significantly to finish higher than 7th.

Very good, Algernon. Let's get everyone to do one right now and then again in 6 mos when we have a little more info on recruits and some real insight into the season. Those will be the official picks. What do you say posters?

tigerfanalso

Brian..... I agree with your projections for the most part.  Have you heard anything about Coach Rhoades situation or are you just reflecting comments from previous post ? I'm curious !!!

Just taking what I have read here into consideration.  I have not heard anything since I live in Prince Edward County!  I rarely even read the Times-Dispatch.

Takes an extra week or so for news to get to PEC doesn't it Brian?  ;D Even longer if you live down Meherrin way or out in Darlington Heights.  ;D ;D
