pat,
my bad. i'll just wait around until i become a more veteran member to post polls.

78rmc,
Do you know what kind of rules and they are playing with and how long the halves/quarters are? I find it hard to believe that macon give sup only 54 points and gets blown out.

I'll check the setup. I think I put it at the All-American level.

Scottie, I have no idea about the rules in Chile.  What I gleemed from the three games is the development of Jeremy Dixon.  Those of us that watch RMC last year knew that Jeremy is the real deal.  He had mono during the middle of last season and never got a chance to play at 100%.  Will get significant time this year.

78rmc,
We'll have to see how things go here back in America. He did seem to do well in those first 3 games, but it doesnt sound like their first two opponents were particularly good by any means. Is he a SF or a PF? Mono is a killer though, no wonder his stats didn't look like anything special then. Did he stop practicing and getting playing time once he got it? I've never had it but i've always heard that you aren't supposed to do physical activity when you have it.

Scottie, Dixon is clearly a SF.  He rebounds strong and has good timing on the boards.  If memory serves me, he missed all of last January and played sparingly for the rest of the season.

STH - re. your poll....if Adair has half the season he had last year, he'll easily win POY. I just can't see anyone touching this kid.  ;)

jdubyadubya,
I dont think Adair's stats will be as good this year with the loss of Pete Warren. He opened up so many different types of things for the guards and other big men. I know you say they have someone to replace him coming in, but then you are asking a freshmen to do those same things.  The only big man off the bench from last year VWC had that made more than 5 threes was Tyler Fantin at 6 threes, but if you expect a bench player - who apparently wasn't looked at much on the offensive end in most games -  to come off the bench to start to help pickup the scoring load and all that other things Pete did, then I don't see the same type of production being there. Brandon Adair better pray a lot that they get someone at Pete's position that can step out and hit the 3. He opened up so many easy baskets for Adair that it was unreal.  If they don't get a guy at Pete's position that can shoot the three then Adair better say byebye to a lot of his easy baskets.  Without someone that can step out to the three and be a threat, then teams could put two defenders down low on nearly every possession, and if Adair gets his defender into trouble, the other post defender can slide over to help him out. Not as many easy baskets there.  With no Pete type player in the offense, there also won't have to be a guy trailing to cover Pete when VWC gets back on offense, the guy that trailed to cover Pete in apst years could run up court to help guard Adair. Not as many easy baskets there. Also, one of the key things to VWC's success last year was dribble pentration by the guards who then either 1) score, 2) dump it off to Adair for an easy basket, or 3) kick it out to someone on or near the perimeter for a jumper.  Well if they have two post defenders and a guard penetrates and beats their defender off the dribble, then one post defender will most likely slide over to try to stop him and last year that would mean Adair is basically open in most cases, but with TWO post defenders, that eans there will still be a player in the post to defend Adair or whoever else may get the ball. Not as many easy baskets there either.

Hi all, after the off-season, I am back.  I went with a new name, just for kicks.  Still Larry Guengerich, former EMU SID.  Haven't seen a lot of comment about EMU recruits, but ran across this link today.  Do any of you from Lynchburg area know much about Delaney Brown from Heritage?

Delaney Brown is a pretty good shooter. If I remember correctly, he was one of their best 3 point shooters. I never saw Heritage play [I can't get into high school basketball], so I can't tell you anymore than that. Thanks for the link. I was wondering where some of the Heritage boys were going. It will be interesting to watch this kid play in the ODAC for my last two years.

Tried to make that URL fit a little better ... not sure how well it went.

Hey, talk about asking.  Got this from a Harrisonburg connection.

EMU potential recruits.

This is in addition to E.J. Arrington who got a med-red shirt

LeRoger Parrish- a point guard from Danville, VA.

(as mentioned earlier) Delany Brown - from Lynchburg

Darrel Renner went to Strasburg H.S. and was at a SW Missouri State related Junior College

Robert Roy, power forward from Madison Co. H.S

Chancelor Fitzgerald a 6'6 center from Chatham H.S

LC got Chancelor's teammate in Jonathan Wright. I'm pretty sure we recruited Chancelor as well.

Happy Birthday, Scottie! :D

I think you were a little hard on Adair. He will get plenty of support from a strong cast.
