Where are they now? What are the plans of the graduating senior hoopsters? Adair is going to try and play European ball but I know nothing other than that. What are the other graduated seniors going to do?

Have to agree with all of the prior posts on this subject.  Had I gone to a DI school at 18, and remembering very well how I was back then, I wouldn't have made it.  I needed someone to educate me in spite of myself, which is exactly what I got at R-MC. :)

If you had gone to H-S, you would have gotten that education in spite of yourself AND to spite R-M.  A double bonus.  ;D ;D
Ah, but Jacketlawyer also got to share his campus with the fair women of RMC.  That can can be a bonus as well.  :)

Ben Strong can settle for VERY bad shots sometimes and get dominated on the defensive end, just watch the Guilford at VA Wesleyan game film to see that - specifically Adair nearly dunking on him (Adair got fouled but the refs didn't call it, what a surprise, the refs missed a call!). Another weakness is that his build probably won't allow him to put on that much muscle, he may be able to put on a few more pounds of muscle, but in my opinion he has gained about as much muscle as he's going to get. You also ahve to take into account that in most games the tallest person guarding him is a 6'8" guy (if that) who is generally more than over matched. I would think that if Strong were to go over to Europe and play more often against guys his size or bigger who aren't as over matched that he will find things to be much more difficult than it is now. Not blasting the kid because he's great - i could make a fairly big post about how good he is- but I wanted to point out a couple weaknesses from an unbiased perspective.

Hey hasa, are you insinuating there aren't fair women at H-SC? Other than a few day students, perhaps not in the classroom. But I can say with 100% certainty that they are there. I grew up literally an average armed D3 outfielders stones throw from frat circle. I have seen them with my own eyes. Every kid growing up should be so lucky to see the things I saw  :o......uh, I mean.....no kid should be exposed to such debauchery at such a tender young age.   ;D No wonder I turned out like I did.  :D

The info provided is very helpful. I assume you that I am not Ben Strong, nor am I anyone very close to him. I hope to hear from more people who have seen him play in person. Also, does anyone have any experience with pro basketball at any level? I am trying to determine what level of basketball Ben might be able to play after college?

For those who were inquiring about ODAC basketball recruits, I understand from searching a few other sites that Rand. Macon is bringing in a 6'3" G/F from Red Lion PA (Grant Becker), a 6'1" guard (Tom Scheeler) from the Mahony Area, PA area and a pretty good post player from Virginia (name not provided).  I found a web site indicating that a 6'4" guard from Greensburg Salem, PA (Paul Matthews) is headed to Hampden Sydney.

PAUL MATTHEWS is a 6-foot-4, 180-pound senior guard-forward who will come from Greensburg Salem High School (near Pittsburgh).

Matthews started in his last 3 seasons and, by December of his senior season, Matthews had scored 900 points. He also had a 3.75 grade point average.

According to a January 2007 article in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, "A deadly shooter, Matthews is shooting 50 percent from the floor, better than 90 percent at the free-throw line, and better than 40 percent from 3-point range. Matthews leads the Golden Lions in steals and blocks, and is also second in rebounds."  It goes on to say, "Matthews' intelligence isn't limited to the court. An excellent student, he is attracting college attention for not just his basketball ability, but for his academic prowess, as well. A multitude of Division I and Division II schools are interested, as are Division I Ivy League and Patriot League schools."

JWW,

I've also read that the Marlins have a commitment from Jabez Wallace, 6'7" forward from Trinity Episcopal in Richmond.  I read it on a message board, so I'm not sure if it's 100 percent reliable or not.

Keeping on the VWC front, David Doino has taken a position as an assistant coach with North Carolina Wesleyan.
