Do you think they will be a better team than last year?

The talent returning, other than Carlson, is overrated and unless they get some impact freshman and transfers i just dont see them finishing any higher than 6th at best. The cupboard seems to me like it's getting pretty bare compared to 4 years ago.

mybleedinghands

does anyone know of any significant losses for any of the teams due to transferring, failing out, or just electing not to play? don't have to give the reason why, just curious to see if any key players aren't going to be there this year.

jdub, i will agree with you that VW is a lot deeper than guilford and hsc especially at the guard spot. im picking them to finish 1st but i think the odac will pick guilford jus for the fact that vwc is not a liked team in the odac.....know who do you guys think will b the best player at each position in the ODAC
Well, I can't speak to every position, but Strong is pretty much a 2007-08 preseason lock at Center.

I heard that Justin Strickland (Freshman last year) may not be returning to Guilford.  Since he missed part of the season due to an injury, you might not know much about him, but he is very good and was a key when he played during the season and the playoffs.

yes i was curious about him, a great deal of the guilford varsity basketball team is on the same team in the rusty larue summer league, meanwhile i noticed that justin strickland was on a different team in that league.

I think Kimbrough is a threat for all-ODAC at point.  If Strong moves to PF, Sanborn can be a threat at Center.

i had kimbrough on my personal all-odac team, i think i had him HM

DeWayneCarter

He'll be pretty good... as will VWC's D'Juan Tucker this season... who will finally be the man at the PG position.

jdubyadubya

No kidding, DeWayne. D'Juan has paid his dues. Just take a look at the quality of the seniors VWC will be putting on the floor - Tucker, Fantin, Balenga, Paschal. Then look at the juniors and sophomores. Incredible depth. VWC is going to be at the top of the ODAC for a long time to come! ;D

PS. Jacketlawyer - congrats on that huge gift to your alma mater. Awesome. ::)

Those WVC seniors have surely played a whole lot of games in their career to date.  Great experience, but maybe they'll be tired and give the ODAC a break.  ;-)

Nice catch for R-MC, Jacketlawyer.  But you'll always be Jacketlawyer to me.

Yeah, me too, I like the original Jacketlawyer. Sludge - and what's really exciting about the Marlins are the juniors who can step up at any time - Zac Green, Norman Hassell, Tony Green, and Terrell Dixon. And what about those spohomores -- talk about strong! TJ Williams, Stephen Fields, Chris Battaglia. Tough ;D
