Not D3 hoops but sad news out of Winston-Salem today as Basketball coach Skip Prosser collapsed after jogging on campus at Wake Forest and died at the young age of 56 of an apparent heart attack...go home tonight and kiss your wife and kids, your girlfriend/boyfriend, mom and dad, whoever...life is short...way to short for some! My thoughts and prayers are with the Prosser family tonight!

Absolutely.

Just awful news out of Winston-Salem. On a positive note, Mr. Adair is on his way to Germany to play some pro basketball.

Very nice article! He's a hard nosed player and I hope he does well in Germany.
btw - not too many guys grow 2 inches after their senior season ::)
If you make every game a life and death proposition, you're going to have problems. For one thing, you'll be dead a lot. Dean Smith

Sludge - feel free to talk about Marlin basketball as much as you like ;D. Yeah, he got as tall as old #44 quickly.

Amazing news out of VWC! Long time soccer coach and AD Sonny Travis is headed for Emory University. His asst. takes over soccer but AD position is wide open.

FortyFour

JWW,

I was stunned when I heard that as well.  I hate to see Coach Travis go.  He did amazing things for the athletic dept. at VWC.  It does sound the soccer team will be in capable hands, but it may take awhile to find a good replacement for him as AD.

Hey 44 - when is Coach Macedo going to release his tournament and game schedule? It's August 1 so you would think it will be soon. Also, I see where NC Wesleyan will be participating in the Tip Off tournament at VWC. You know what that means...Doino is back in the house! :D

FortyFour

JWW,

Who knows?  It seems like they get later and later with that stuff every year!

Hampton U SID

I know one team in that tipoff JWW and playing again on Dec. 8  ;)

Guilford AD (and former Greensboro College football HC) Marion Kirby is retiring effective August 31.  Looks like Basketball HC Tom Palombo is taking over interim AD duties:
