... And one of the best features of your school is your fine basketball coach, a VWC educated young man!  ;D

A low blow!  Anyway, we don't hold it against him.  ;)

With all things being equal, I sincerely believe that the Old Dominion Athletic Conference has chest pounding rights as the best conference in DIII. The last several years seem to prove that point. How does everyone else feel about strength of schedule, including out of conference games and tournaments.

Pat Coleman

The absolute best conference in D-III? I don't think anyone outside of Virginia is going to buy into that. (And I'm in Virginia myself, not buying it either.)

ODAC deserves to be in the "power conference" list, however, along with the WIAC, CCIW, OAC, UAA and NESCAC. Think I got everyone there.

my vote goes to cciw. sorry ODAC, but we normally only have 2 teams - if that - in the top 25.

Glad to see there's still life in the board.

I knew that statement was Coleman bait!  At least, Pat has included us to his informal list of power conferences now.  As far as I know, that's a first.

Ralph Turner

I think that the consideration for the ODAC as a power conference came with VWC's championship,  and good performance in 2007, giving 4 ODAC teams in the Final Four in the last decade.  (H-SC 99 and 03, VWC 06 and 07).

Look there, sludge, the Guru, an All-American, and the Hall of Fame All-American Ralph Turner chimed in on that hair raising, toe tingling post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D ;)

Was a long part of the Salem postgame. The broadcast is worth listening to. :)

Thanks, Pat.  Can you tell me how to find that broadcast?  I fished for it, but didn't find.

You guys ever read any of the posts on the GSAC Board? Boy do they have problems over there! :o
I just read it.  I see what you mean.

Yea, there is a lot of bad blood.  Thank God you all are in the conference you are in.  Check out the link below to give some background on the GSAC problems stemming from a year ago.

So why did Fisk bail?

It's a long story that I will tell you (as brief as I can) in a PM if you are interested!  This is an ODAC Board and I prefer not to share the problems of the GSAC on this Board.

The GSAC's problem is that there are only 4 men's schools in the conference.  The conference used to have a problem involving a school with embarrasing athletic programs (excluding men's basketball) and unacceptable facilities.
