I find it offensive that 'The Historian' felt the need to blanket ALL the boards with his diatribe.  The issue has been addressed on the relevant board - NESCAC.

I guess the SID could just put a copyright mark into his stories, and that would settle the matter.  I was just surprised that Pat wouldn't play along when specifically asked.  Peacemakers and all.

You've gotta give D3Hooops credit for being a full service outfit, though:  they offend 'em, and then they give him a place to sound off about it.

The SID could have put an actual byline on the story when he sent it as a press release. There's way more to the story, not surprisingly, that Historian hasn't mentioned. It'll get taken care of.

I think we were supposed to just guess what name to put on it. There was no byline on the release.

Its fine and conventional to reference the URL.

It was sent via e-mail. There was not a URL to reference. As I said, you didn't get the entire picture.

Thanks, Pat.  That's a riot!  A comedy worthy of Shakespeare.  We could call it "A Comedy of Errors", or "Much Ado About Nothing".
;D

alright i give up. i try to start bball conversation and no one ever takes the bait. i should just be controversial again lol.

I'll bite!  I'm excited.  Any news you can provide about the Lynchburg team is very welcome.
I don't know if Guilford is doing a 12:01AM practice, but they sure as heck are starting sometime tomorrow morning.  First week of practice will probably be hellacious.

any idea if other schools are having a midnight madness?  sunday night might make it tough - too bad the D3s were not able to have midnight madness on Friday like the D1s.

Randolph, the men's team from the school formerly known at Randolph-Macon Women's?  Or RMC?

Mr. Ypsi

Better get used to it, Ralph - Randolph/Randolpf-Macon is gonna mess up posters at least as often as McMurry/MacMurray! ;)

The Washington and Lee men's basketball program will be celebrating its 100th season.  How many
Virginia schools have reached 100 and who are they?

The Tigers' first team was in 1908-1909, so this year would be the 100th season of Tiger basketball except that there was no team for 3 years during World War II (1943-44, 1944-45, and 1945-46), so this will be only the 97th year of Tiger basketball.

Did Washington and Lee field a team throughout World War II?

I read that Guilford and Wake Forest played the first recorded intercollegiate game in North Carolina in February of 1907.

Tiger Football:

1892-1903:  12 years
1904: no team

1905-1942:  38 years
1943-1944: no team

1945-2007:  63 years

This is the 113th year of Tiger football.  However, there was only 1 football game in 5 of the years (1892-1895, 1945).

Randolph-Macon hits the centennial in 2010.

Well LC was established in 1903, so I imagine the 100th year of the bball team has either occurred or will be soon...
