With ODAC games over for this weekend, here's some guessing that there will be a bunch of ODAC teams at the bottom end of the Top 25:

Guilford will drop from #17 to #23
Virginia Wesleyan will rise from #22 to #21
Randolph Macon will rise from #25 to #22
Roanoke will jump into the Top 25 at #24

NEW TOP 25:

"Guilford will drop from #17 to #23"  --  DROPPED OUT, to #26 (after 12-point loss to Roanoke and win over EHC)

"Virginia Wesleyan will rise from #22 to #21"  --  #16 (after wins over HSC and Lynchburg)

"Randolph Macon will rise from #25 to #22"  --  #19 (after wins over HSC and EMU)

"Roanoke will jump into the Top 25 at #24"  --  #24  !! (after defeating Guilford and EMU)

Algernon - I'm surprised. I even think a 16 spot for VWC is generous; I think a drop out for GC is harsh, but I think it's great that RMC and RC jump up. I wonder when the last time the ODAC had 3 teams in the top 25 plus one hovering just below the line.

Congratulations to VWC, RMC and RC, but don't count Guilford out.  Starter Tyler Sanborn has been hurt since the HSC game and I'm not sure when he'll return, but GC still has a solid team.  If Roanoke wins again tomorrow night, then perhaps GC was overrated, but I bet Guilford plays a lot better this time.  I sincerely hope a lot of students will be at the game.

Only the very foolish would consider Guilford overrated with a lot of basketball left to play, and the ODAC tournament. ;)

Very happy with my Yellow Jackets, but we've got two tough ones coming up this week.  After these two, we'll have a better handle on what to expect from this team, I think.

Nova - anyone who even remotely thinks about "counting Guilford out" is a complete and total lunatic. Way too much talent.

VWC is only 25 points -- one spot per ballot -- out of 21st. It's really packed in that part of the poll.

Pat - that's incredible. It's turning out to be quite a year!

Of course I'm rooting for the Quakers, but doesn't it make for a much more interesting season when so many games are tightly contested?  I honestly enjoy seasons such as this a lot more than I do when the champ is a given and everyone else is scrambling for second!  Anyone want to predict the tournament seeding for one through eight?  lol

Heck, why not? lol

1) Roanoke - Very experienced and battle tested
2) Randolph-Macon - Doing surprisingly well
3) VA Wesleyan - Not as good as last year, but thye still have loads of talent
4) Bridgewater - Leatherman is one of the best there is in maximizing the available talent.
5) Guilford - Sanborn injury is costly. They haven't looked nearly as good with him out.
6) Hampden-Sydney - Have no idea why they are struggling...
7) Washington & Lee - Solid team, but they've never finished higher than 7th since Bienemann has been there so I don't see why I should pick them higher this year when their talent level didn't increase by much.
8 ) EMU/LC - Too tough to call between EMU and LC at this point, but I'd give a slight edge to EMU since they beat LC. The LC game against W&L this weekend will tell a lot to me, in my eyes them and EMU along with LC will be battling it out for 7th and 8th.

1. VA Wesleyan(sorry, I have to put them here!)
2. RMC - having a great year
3. Roanoke - about time!
4. Guilford - better than this
5. Bridgewater - iffy
6. HSC - dumbfounding
7. W&L - starting to grow
8. Lynchburg - solid 8

As my friend STH says, "what the heck" ;D

Mr. Ypsi

I think the key unknown is how soon Tyler Sanborn returns (and if he is 'good-as-new' when he does).  Ben Strong seems to be missing his 'twin tower' more than I expected; with both healthy I think they are still #1 in the conference.

Addition by subtraction  -  they didn't lose anyone either. Just remember who hung the loss on RM. W&L was whupping them pretty good when RM  staged a furious rally to tie it up for OT. ;)

You guys had destiny on your side that day, baseline! ;)
