Never seen RMC play at home, I will have to go and watch, Yes I agree with their playing time due to all RMC's returners. I was just saying that RMC is a real good team and by their freshmen class they look as if they are continuing toimprove, not stay the same...I know its a little easier getting in the recruits when you have a good program, but still got to give props to the RMC scouts...always looking to improve and I truly believe it will not be long before they are steady up in the Top 5

If, as scottie says, Manos was riding the bench because of "philosophical differences" with the coach and Prior didn't start because of some "in-house issue", it sounds like the Hornets are in some serious disarray.  Friday night's game against D1 Liberty is almost certainly going to be another beat-down, not likely to improve team morale.   I see the season going into the tank very rapidly  for Lynchburg unless there is a dramatic turnaround.  Does anyone see it differently?
I think we'll have a clearer look at the Hornets' season about 5 PM on Saturday afternoon.  I don't expect them to beat Liberty on Friday night and I don't expect them to win a Saturday afternoon road game with a hot Guilford team less than 24 hours later. Personally, I would never have scheduled this combination, but I guess LC had their reasons.  If the Hornets can pull even in the ODAC this weekend, they can begin to salvage their season, otherwise it is not looking so good to me.  Of course, Lynchburg beat Guilford twice last year, so you never know ....

To Algernon or any other HSC backer:

What happened to Mladen Cvijanovic and James Ponton from your pre-season roster?

Also, what's the story on Jeremy Szuch?  He was highly recruited by several schools including RMC.  He played little last year and none this year.  Anyone of his size should get some minutes.  Just curious?

Both Cvijanovic and Ponton left the team before the regular season games began, but I don't know or can't say more than that.  Szuch is currently on the disabled list -- my understanding is that it is shin splints.

The Tigers are doing well without these players, even winning against the Balengaless Marlins last night without the help of Mike Edwards, who had been averaging 14 points a game.  Mike was injured after 8 minutes of play and did not return to the court.  I don't know what his status is today.

W&L finally got a handle on their Turnover maladies against BC last night.  Next issue = rebounding.

Thanks for the update.  Looks like the absence of Edwards and Balenga offset and thus evened the game.  Good situtation for the Tigers going forward to win without Edwards.

You posted a few days ago that W&L would beat Bridgewater last night. I took that as a pick'em. You are hereby officially exhiled...as per your request. ;D

Not to be a bother, but I never posted a prediction about last night's game. I think that must have been one of the other Generals fans on the board...

sorry go generals...you posted a prediction on November 21st on the W&L v. Emory game, not the BC v. W&L game. It was right after we had opened week one of the pick'em. I didn't want anyone who might have wanted to be involved to be slighted. But as I said earlier I have removed your name from the pick'em list, and I apologize for making a wrong assumption.

Aha... I found the post you were referring to. It was a different poster, who goes by the moniker of gogenerals, and not me (gogenerals04), who made that prediction. Again, I'm not trying to annoy, but I was racking my brain trying to figure out when I made a prediction on this board. I tearfully apologize for any hardship that I have caused.

Macon and Wesleyan fans, we will have your men's and women's games against W&L on the web this weekend at:

The guys really played down to W&L.

The game sounded bizarre but since I could only listen...

I'll take exception to your the line about playing down.

W&L was 6-7 from the line & had 29 fouls called on them. B'water was 29-43 & had only 13 fouls called on them. It sounded like 'home cookin' to me. Bridgewater wins by 23 on the line 8 on the scoreboard. That's a tough road loss for the Gennies.

Thanks for the info.  Though I plan to go to Lexington for the R-M/W&L game, it's good to know you're on the web.

I was at the game, and alot of the foul situation was because of the style of play of both teams.  W&L didnt go inside as much as BC. The Eagles were feeding the post regularly and with all the offensive rebounds, of course there are going to be fouls.  I am not quite sure if the Eagles are going to be a good team yet or not, but i agree with ladyeagle that they played down to the competition last night.  Nothing against the Generals, just an opinion.

ladyeagle

bcsportswriter has it.  Of course there were more fouls called on W&L.  Bridgewater was pulling away with many more of the rebounds (BC with 46 total, W&L with 27).  W&L was fighting to get the ball back, but the Eagles just got their first.  Also, W&Lwere desperately trying to come back at the end of the game and fouled a few times there.

To STH,

What are your thoughts on the RMC freshmen?  What little I've seen, they may be the best overall class to enter RMC.

Good, very good. Especially Nick Annacone. The recruiting class is phenominal. I really like this Nick Annacone kid. He can stroke the 3 just like Pete Warren and also has similar size, although not as muscualr and a tad bit shorter. I'd like to see his inside game sometime. Someone said this Boris guy threw a dunk down easily. I never would have said easily, from my angle it looked like his hand barely touched the rim. It was alsmost debatable rather it was even a dunk to begin with, but I guess my angle must ahve been different or something.  I don't relaly remember that much else, I forgot to get a program for myself and couldn't who was a freshmen and who wasnt other than a few of the returners. Although I do have a question about Alex Irmer: does anyone know what kind of music he listens to? His face along with that hair makes him look like he's in a heavy metal band!

Manos and Coach have an argument every once in a while, nothing serious.  Pat didn't start or get playing time for reasons that aren't bad at all. He was given little playing time for a very good reason that will only make him better able to play in upcoming games. In-house issues aren't always bad, in-house simply means you nor anyone else on this board has any business knowing about it. If it were bad, coach would have suspended him for the game, which he isn't afraid to do, like he has in previous years.

We're pretty much doing the Liberty game for the money. Not sure what Coach is planning on doing with distributing playing time, but I wouldn't expect him to play the starters aand first few players off the bench their normal minutes. I'd imagine he's distribute the playing time out more evenly by giving the JV players some PT. Of course I don't make the decisions, so I don't know what coach will do, but I do know that we are doing a heck of a lot more scouting and planning for Guilford than we are for Liberty, although I was told they play a similar style of basketball, so planning for Guilford is kinda like planning for Liberty.
