scottharris has resigned from the board and wants me to let Sludge know that he's not the guy who dissed his coach, etc. That was the California guy. I hope that scottharris will return at another time and that perhaps he can bury the hatchet with eagleslam. Note that I said "with" as opposed to "in!"  :)

Whoops!   Scott, please accept my apologies for getting that wrong.  You weren't dissing your coach on this board.
JWW, thanks for clarifying.

ODAC fans ... if you haven't seen it yet, you should read the thread under the South Region regarding Coach Rhoades' parents ... sad.  Peace

rmc6thman

Very sad to hear about Mike's parents' accident.  It sounds as though his mother will be out of the hospital today or tomorrow.  Mike's father was a great man, did so much work as a State Senator in PA for the education system.  He will be missed for sure...when his schedule permitted, the Rhoades were always at RMC games, and made a point to get to know every player and their family, just great all-around people.  Makes everyone take a step back from basketball for a minute and think about what's really important in life, family above all.

Guilford's 2008-09 preseason roster is now posted on the college's website.  I count 25, with 10 lettermen, 1 non-letter returnee and 14 newcomers.  In addition to my projected starters (Sanborn, Henson and perhaps Neville), I see 6'9"/239 Justin Stafford from W-S and a kid named Hyman, who must be a good athlete because he's starting at cornerback on the football team.

It should be an interesting season!

Check out VWC's roster for 08/09. It's one of the best recruiting classes ever and it looks like the Marlins have a powerhouse this year and at least for another four years ;D.

If this recruting class can stay intact, VWC will be a force to reckon with in the next couple of years. Meredith and McDuffie could challenge for starting spots immediately. All of the Marlin freshman bring something different to the table, and if they are able to gel with the returning players, VWC could shock the naysayers this season.

I hope VWC is able to challenge RMC. It will only make for a more interesting season plus give the ODAC more national exposure. Time will tell how effective those freshmen will be and how good the recruiting class really is; words are what they; PT will expose and determine how strong the class is.

I'm looking forward to the b'ball season but again, I'm not looking forward to f'ball ending. B'ball is a means for me to make it through the Winter; F'ball is kind of a way of life !!!!

Tiger fan, what about HSC transfers Mudd and Payne? What type of contributions do you think they will have towards HSC's team?

DWC

I really have no idea; been told they are very good players and should make an immediate contribution. Past that I don't know but like I said earlier; time will tell and that time is getting here soon !!!!

Good luck this year. I hope it is going to be a  good one. I see it as a one team, maybe two team race (RMC & VWC) with HSC & Guilford improving during the year. By the time the tourney comes around I see Guilford and/or HSC, ready to make a run at the top dogs.

Hopefully the ODAC will end up with two teams in the NCAA with one of them going deep.

Thanks, hoopstermom!  It's nice to see two ODAC teams in the preseason Top 25.  Guilford had a lot of key losses, but I think they also had a good recruiting year.  I expect all three of these teams to be factors in the ODAC race.  Here's an "e" for your effort and a karma for you!

PS  Here's an "e" for Va Wesleyan as well!  :)

ODACHOOPS

I think 14 is an accurate pre-season ranking for RMC.  I think they have the potential and talent to be better then the 14th ranked team in the country but considering how their season ended last year I think 14 is accurate.  Not sure who all VWC has coming in, I know fish fans think they have 4 all –Americans coming in as freshman haha, I just know what they lost from last years team.  However because of their name and their recent success I can see them cracking the top 25 for that reason alone.  Not to sure how Guilford received votes (not that im complaining, the more ODAC teams ranked the better).  Just curious considering what they lost last year and only returning 2 starters..Ready for ODAC play to begin!

Hey HOOPS - "I know fish fans think they have 4 All Americans coming in as freshman..." C'mon now HOOPS, we have at least SIX ;D

ODACHOOPS

Jdub: I meant  4 "first year"  All-Americans..No disrespect to the other 2, I was just thinking it wouldn't be until the 09-10 season until you totaled 6. haha
