In looking at  W&L and VWS box score, it showed Brandon Adair only playing 9 minutes? Did he get hurt?

Scottie said, "i got two bonus points for being the one closet to picking the total points of the E&H vs. guilford game (i think that was the game) i was only off by 8 points!

Thanks, Scottie.  I failed to see the +2 by your name and I do remember your close guess in the GC/E&H game now that you mention it.  I'm still wondering about mr_divac's score, however.  PS Are you really the "one closet"?  :)

Adair was seriously injured and was taken to the hospital by ambulance where it was detrmined that he has a severely sprained neck and his return date to the court is unknown.

Yikes! How did that happen?? That injury could have been a lot worse than it was considering it was his neck! Good luck to him and the recovery, hopefulyl he can bounce back soon!

If you want to see a glimpse of a good team that's still developing into a great team, watch the Quakers this year.  I am not saying they are going to win every game this year and I am not saying they are going to win the ODAC, I am just saying they are better than their #6 preseason ranking and they will be a force with which to reckon in the league this season.  The Quakers have a 6'10" sophomore center who is making great strides as a player.  Guilford starts two juniors, two sophomores and a freshman.  Many of the top guys off the bench are underclassmen.

Fear the Quaker .... :)

hasanova .... I think you are right on the money about the Quakers.  I was surprised that they were ranked only #6 at the beginning of the season and I think they have of reasonable shot of finishing the season right where they are now, on top of the ODAC.  After all, the Quakers have beaten RMC two-in-a-row and have taken HSC to OT the last two games.  While last year's FOY has not returned and Genaro's absence gives them less depth in the post than before, Ben Strong was very, very impressive as a freshman and apparently has improved quite a bit this year.  That, plus the return of a bunch of underclassmen who gave last year's Quakers a lot of depth, including one guy who can even hit the basket from the other end of the court .... :) .... , and I think they definitely have to be considered one of the top 4-5 teams in the ODAC.

One thing's for certain, I fear the Quaker ..... :)

algernon -  Thanks.  Now in his third year at Guilford, I am very impressed with Coach Palombo and his staff.  It's taken a while, but I believe the Quakers have finally made the transition to NCAA DIII recruiting and coaching (I was there when GC was an NAIA power).  In my opinion, Ben Strong has improved greatly this season (he took over the LC game in the 2nd half last Saturday).  I am also impressed with 6'4" freshman George Neville and 6'6" freshman Barry Wells.  If both can adapt a little more to the college game, I believe the Quakers can have a formidable frontcourt capable of posting up or playing the run game.  I think the Quakers already have talented guards who play well together in any combination.  You mentioned a few games last year (the RMC and HSC series) and I'd like to add the Lynchburg and Roanoke games.  The Quakers had LC in both games, HSC in both games and RC at home and let them get away.  I counted at least 5 league games last year that subpar free throw shooting cost the Quakers the victory.  If they can solve that issue, I see the Quakers winning 13 or 14 league games this year and 18-20 overall.    In last winter's ODAC tournament, they put a whipping on BC and had VWC down at the half.  Hopefully, they have the experience and poise this year to put these games in the win column.

I'd like to encourage other ODAC fans to realize winning the league title this year also includes a trip to Greensboro.

eaglesalm,,,, first and foremost... you said is emu as good as they looked on sat. night.. NO...EMU played avg. ball..they havent put 40mins together yet... They are much better than they appeared.. You act like they played well..And another thing, The players choose EMU b/c of the staff and what is preached to the players, they believe in what EMU is trying to do.. They know whats up with the cross town rivalry....  If you think they come here b/c they play here more, lets be real, there is nobody on the BC team that would get minutes at EMU but maybe Clay, All the other spots are non negotiable...Parish would start at BC's point and Parkes would play 35 mins a game there......

As for Adair I hope everything is going well and he is able to make it back soon...
