Tigerfanalso ,  If GC and RMC make it to championship game I think they both get a NCAA invite. I doubt that they both make it to championship game. I think (and I hate to say this) RMC will again fall early and be left sitting home in March.
My reasons are numerous... one of which in a 25 game season they have yet to play a full 40 minute game. I don't think they have that gut burning desire to start hard and play hard for 40 minutes.  It takes guts and passion which I think is not present.

They went 20-5 for the season, playing a very difficult out of conference schedule. That is pretty darn good. I will be surprised if they don't make it to the finals. I just don't see anybody on their side of the bracket that is good enough to force RMC to play its best for 40 minutes to beat them. Stranger things have happened and if Short was not a senior I might agree; but it is Short's senior season and I think he'll see to it that RMC doesn't have a let down.

My point is that Short can not do it all in the ODAC tourney. It takes a team. Don't get me wrong, I think the first 8-9 players all have nice ability and b-ball knowledge. They just do not come to give you 40 minutes every game, and I think 40 minutes of a burning gut is what it takes to be a champion!

The Fish lead Randolph 23-16 at the half.  Five Wildcats have scored, all between 2 to 5 points.  VWC's box is messed up in LiveStats ... I think it's showing the final boxscore from an earlier game versus HSC ... weird!

The Wasps are leading the Generals 41-30 at the break in Lexington.  E&H is shooting 15 of 28, while W&L is only 10 of 32.  The box says the Wasps are outshooting the Generals on 2's, 3's and FT's.

LC's tied with HSC at the half, 34 all.  Interesting.

H-SC 68 LC 53  Final - good game - bench helped a lot especially on defense for last 12 minutes or so - Payne with double-double.  See you in Roanoke on Friday!!!!

Va. Wesleyan 51, Randolph 35 Final

W&L leads E&H 77-74 with 2:18 left in OT.

Congratulations to the Generals ... nice comeback after trailing by 11 at the half.  Hopefully, I'll be in Salem on Friday for W&L vs GC!

So, here are the matchups:

W&L and GC
EMU and BC
HSC and Roanoke
VWC and RMC

So far my predictions have held true, though W&L tried to give E&H a little life to bust me up!  :o
I would love to go 9-1 and the only miss be HSC over GC in the final!

As for tonights game, the Hornets came out and played well to start the game and got up 18-8 (I believe) before the Tigers stormed back to take a 5 point lead.  Then Lynchburg tied it up by half (as 'Nova said).  It was back and forth for about 8-9 minutes in the 2nd half and then HSC got up by 6 then was able to build the lead up to 15 at one point and LC never got closer than about 8 or 9 the rest of the way.  LC only scored 19 points in the 2nd half (I believe) and that will kill any team.  I must say that I hope the officiating is better in Salem than it was tonight.  The zebras did not decide the game, but they made numerous bad calls (against both teams).

Safe travels to Salem everyone!  I'll be arriving some time during the RMC-VWC game.

The Generals were a littel bi-polar tonight: up 17-3 then down 11 at the half. They left it all out there on the court & live to play another game.

Hasa, I'm hoping for the upset - good luck on Friday!

Thanks.  Hey, it's tournament hoops, baselinejam ... I know you'll be rooting for the Generals to take us down!  It's nice to be seeded #1, but man, you sweat out the games you're "supposed" to win!  If we both make the game on Friday, look me up.

I'd love to be in Salem to cheer on the Generals & meet the Quaker legend. However, I have a lacrosse commitment in Baltimore that will keep me away. I'm sure the Rotarians will have things rocking at the Civic Center.
