Fish vs Gennies at the beach 2pm. Will youth be served or will the Generals do the unthinkable?

The Quakers top the Wildcats, 73-63, in Lynchburg.  Sanborn 18 (and a career-high 18 boards!), Henson 12, Bonner 12, Lowder 11, Neville 10, Stephenson 8 and Monroe 2 for GC.  Hamilton 19, Clarke 13, Lekavicius 11, Rutschman 10, Woods-Morrow 6, Johnson 2 and Greene 2 for RaC.  Guilford moves to 10-2, 3-0, while Randolph's now 2-11, 0-6.  Randolph was 8 of 17 on threes while Guilford was only 3 of 16, but the Quakers were 16 of 18 from the line and won the rebounding battle 41-23 (the Wildcats had only one offensive rebound!)

The Quakers travel to Roanoke for a big game on Monday night!

HSC 96  E&H 86 - finally a ODAC win for HSC after several close ones.

Good game  Turner King had 20 as did Ben Jesse with totsl of 5 in double figures - every one who was well played most in first half so talent started to show in a lot of places.

Ralph Turner

Enjoyed the Roanoke-EMU broadcast.

Great win for the Tigers in Emory, one of the toughest places to win in the conference. H-SC finally got contribution from more than one or two guys, with five in double figures. King was his normal self with 20 and Ben Jessee continues to get more confident with each game, as the freshman put up 20 as well. Good to see Shane Payne get back on track with 15 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists.

You saw a confident group on the floor today. I felt the Tigers showed confidence at Macon, but this time it paid off against the Wasps. Emory closed the gap in the second half when Robert Hudson caught fire from 25 feet out, but Vick's crew stayed calm and executed when they needed to.

Big game Wednesday in Fleet. VWC is starting to put things together as are the Tigers. H-SC needs this win to keep up with the Jones' and the Marlins need this win to solidify their return to the upper echelon of the ODAC early in the year. Can't wait!!

I feel your pain, baselinejam.  I guess they did the "thinkable."

Nice win for the jackets at CNU last night. Playing harder defensively which will win many games for you. Would like to see Brown take the ball to the hole more often. Lets go Jackets!!

Thanks for the report, hasanova.  Wow, Sanborn came up huge when it was needed - great shooting percentage and great rebounding.  He must have expended a lot of energy reaching 18-18, and he showed he has it.   The guards, who have been playing really well went cold from the floor, but thankfully not from the line.  Road games can be tough regardless of anything.  Among Guilford's wins is Lynchburg and Randolph;  I'm pretty sure nobody's getting cocky.

Tough close losses for the Generals (1 stinkin point at the fishtank!)  and EMU (3 points at that tough floor in Roanoke).  I'd say it represents good performances by those two losing teams, though.  I think those two teams belong in the "tough game" column whenever you play them now.  A whole lot of ODAC games fall into the tough game column this year.

I doubt I'll drive to Roanoke Monday, but I may be at the E&H track meet at Guilford on Wednesday.  I might be able to catch HSC or Roanoke also.  The muckraker and I do plan to be at the tough Legacy game on the 31st.
