Jackets hold Peery scoreless in 1st half-he gets in foul trouble, and Danny Jones eats him up in the paint with 4 fouls in the 2nd half when he couldn't foul, then does and fouls out w/1.30 left.Jackets then keep the Maroons at bay but don't put them away, but finally do at the end......all in all a good ODAC win but not the "put 'em away at the end" we need ...but the Jackets are learning....it could all be coming together for a run @ tourney time, just like we need......time will tell...but a fine win tonite for the Jackets @ home... :)

Should be interesting to see how many at large bids the ODAC gets.

The ODAC tournament runnerup might possibly go as a Pool C bid, but only if the runnerup is Randolph-Macon, Guilford, or Roanoke.  I can't imagine that the ODAC will get more than 1 Pool C bid at most.
I agree.  Roanoke lost to RMC tonight, so they've now got a 4th loss in the ODAC (and 5th overall).  In March, there will be a lot of 2-4 loss teams jockeying for position after the inevitable upsets in conference tournaments.

It was a real nail biter in Crenshaw tonight.  Roanoke has some awesome shotmakers, but R-MC stepped up tonight at the free throw line and, combined with strong defense, held their leads to win it by 5.

Congrats to the Yellow Jackets for a terrific win and to the Maroons for a great showing on the road tonight.

Congratulations to the Jackets ... Roanoke's a tough out!

I guess the Quakers and RMC are still knotted at 9-2, with a tie-beaker going to GC.  Quakes get W&L in Ragan-Brown Saturday afternoon ... I'll have to look up RMC's opponent.  BC and RC with 4 losses still have a shot.

Hasa-Jackets @ Lynchburg on sat, then home to the friendly confines @ Crenshaw(w/Crazies back in school)for a monday date w/the Gennies of W&L.....I think I may attend this one having had to miss tonite's game because of domestic issues.. ::)...but the internet feed (video and Marty & Co YJ radio feed)was wonderful!! I'm so happy the S.I.D's and A.D.'s within the conference are offering these!!It makes us Alumni guys who can't always make the game feel like we're there.....Thanks to ALL of you!!I watched the RMC-Guilford game saturday because of you.....and there are an AWFUL LOT of us out here who pick the games up...and with time it will only grow.....although there's no substitute for being in Crenshaw(or Ragan-Brown,or the FISHTANK, or Fleet,or wherever)it's REALLY NICE for you guys to afford us this opportunity to watch our team!!! :) :)Thanx...

You're welcome, rmc1982.   I remember the days when the only way to listen was if your team had a local radio station (usually AM!) and you had to be within a 40-50 mile radius.  lol  In 1973, the Quakers were playing the NAIA title game in Kansas City and we were on spring break!  Literally, about a hundred other cars and I drove from around the area to a parking lot on the campus so we'd be in range to listen ... I made the Saturday night trip from Mt. Airy, NC.  Trust me, it was one big party ... especially after we beat Maryland-Eastern Shore for the title.  :)  You're so right, it makes it so an alumus, fan or parent anywhere in the world can listen ... and sometimes watch!

I appreciate your thanks, but all I do is relay what I can discover ... and sometimes I have connections.  Guilford AD/Head Coach Tom Palombo and SID Dave Walters are the guys who stir this drink!

Hasa-The really cool thing is it's not just GC and RMC-HSC also has their games on video feed via the internet and so does W&L-although theirs is PPV its AVAILABLE!!...and for all I know VWC has it and other schools as well-the main thing is that the S.I.D.'s and the A.D.'s are recognizing this as a major factor in building their natural fan base! There are SO MANY of us who would love to see and support our respective schools and this is the medium.....thanks again to all of you who make this possible!

Technically, I guess seven teams still have a shot at the ODAC regular-season title:

GC  16-4, 9-2
RMC 15-5, 9-2
RoC 16-5, 8-4
EMU 13-7, 7-4
BC 11-9, 7-4
W&L 12-7, 5-5
VWC 12-9, 6-6

... although I think it'll be real tough for W&L and VWC to hope five (or six) other teams all falter, especially when those teams have head-to-head match-ups and someone has to win.

- GC: W&L, @EMU, @LC, @E&H, RaC.  If the Quakers win out, they finish 1st.
- RMC: @LC, W&L, @BC, VWC, HSC.   Jackets have to hope GC falters and they win out.
- RoC: @HSC, @EMU, @W&L, E&H.  All the Maroons can do is win all these road games and hope GC and RMC both fall on their faces.
- EMU: @VWC, GC, RoC, @BC, @W&L.  Lots of head-to-head match-ups for the Royals ... home games versus Guilford and Roanoke are key ... as is trip to BC.   Lots of things have to happen, but they do have some control and it's still possible.
- BC: RaC, RMC, @W&L, EMU, @LC.  The upcoming game with RMC helps and they have a win over GC, but they've got to hope the Quakers and the Jackets both lose a couple while they win out.
- W&L:  @GC, @RMC, LC, BC, RoC, EMU.  Four head-to-head games with contenders give the Generals some control of their own destiny, but arguably the two toughest games are on the road.  Lots of "ifs" here, but it's still possible.
- VWC:  EMU, @RaC, @RMC, HSC.  The Marlins harpooned themselves the last two games, so they're fishing for a title at best.  Head-to-head with RMC helps, but I think it's too much to ask them to win all four and hope so many other teams collapse.

I've probably stated the obvious to all of you, but I hope you'll indulge me.  The last 2 1/2 weeks should be very interesting!  If any W&L fans are coming to Ragan-Brown Saturday, let me know.  By the way, I realize all ODAC teams have to take a Saturday off now that we're up to 11 teams, but "The Game" should end both RMC and HSC's seasons and NOT be played on a Wednesday night!  Just my two cents worth.

C'mon Nova, how about putting your prognostications to verse. We haven't had one from you in a while and your posting is perfect fodder for a novapoem.

I'm glad we beat a tough team last night, but we have to win the road games.

Looking forward to seeing the Jackets play the Hornets this Saturday.

I agree Jacketlawyer- it was touch and go last night at the end and it didn't really have to be-Were you aware that YJC and the SID and Ad had the rest of the home games on a video feed-even the women's game fri nite w/Roanoke for first place will be on-it's COOL 8)...
