Hasanova, if I recall correctly PHC was founded to foster more conservative social and political teaching than was thought to be available in the Commonwealth's higher ed community.

I could very well be mistaken, but I think a part of their mission is to provide a more hospitable campus environment for young people who have received home schooling educations.

If I'm completely wrong, I hope someone here will correct me.  (We have no clue where Purcellville is either...)

You've sorta got it.  It was founded specifically to develop the next generation of (very) conservative political activists - Karl Rove wannabe's, if you will. ;)

My understanding is that it is not accredited, but I'm unsure on that.

Good game the other night boys keep it up!

I getcha, so it's unlike those wild-eyed radical institutions at Washington & Lee, and Lynchburg.

Not to mention those hotbeds of left-wing radicalism: Jerry Falwell's Liberty U and Pat Robertson's Regents U! ;)

Yes, RMC1982, we saw it the same way you did.  Our guys have got to tighten up the free throw shooting!  Still, a good win in front of a very quiet group of students.

Couldn't help but notice a number of W & L fans leaving with 3-4 minutes on the clock!  No way we'd be out of the gym when only down by 7 or 8 even with just a minute left to go.

Jackets must do well on the road Wed. at Bridgewater... GO JACKETS!!!!!

Purcellville, VA -  I found it.  It's a small town (3584 population) in western Loudoun Co. on Rte 7 between Winchester and Leesburg (northern VA, NW of Washingon, DC).   Thanks for all the explanations offered in this forum ... I'd never heard of the town or Patrick Henry College until I saw it on Randolph's men's basketball schedule and then made a point to look up the score (Randolph 83, PHC 18).  For several reasons, it sounds as though they won't quickly be a regular opponent for other ODAC schools.

Congratulations to the the Yellow Jackets for their important win over the Generals.  My condolences to W&L fans, however, as the Generals drop their 5th in a row and fall to 5-7 in the league.  With tonight's win, RMC now has a 1/2 game ODAC lead over the Quakers, 11-2 to 10-2.  Obviously, RMC has three remaining conference games (@BC, VWC and @ HSC) while the Quakers have four (@EMU, @LC, @E&H and Randolph).

I don't know how to call it.  It may very well come down to the Jackets waiting three days to see how GC finishes Senior Day versus the Wildcats.  If they finish with the same records, the Quakers have the head-to-head tie-breaker.  To be seeded first, RMC has to be a game up.  And don't forget, sports fans, there are three 8-4 squads hoping to upset the apple cart starting with RMC at BC and GC at EMU on Wednesday night!

I've asked it before, but don't you love late-season hoops?  :)

This week's Top 25 is out with three ODAC teams getting recognition:  Guilford (79) at #24 while RMC (2) and Roanoke (1) were also included in the voting.  Roanoke, obviously, got one vote for 25th while RMC either got one vote for 24th or two votes for 25th.  Congratulations to all!

Others receiving votes: Amherst 72, Texas-Dallas 65, Transylvania 31, William Paterson 28, Whitworth 26, Chapman 21, Rochester Tech 8, Worcester Polytech 6, DeSales 4, St. Lawrence 4, McDaniel 2, Randolph-Macon 2, Roanoke 1, Salem State 1.

Mr. Ypsi

hasanova,

I got e-mails from Rick Waggoner and Bob Lutz (they weren't sure how to reach you directly) - they are grateful for your loyalty, but if you don't become haDanova soon and buy a new GM car, they're goin' under! ;D

Guilty, Mr. Ypsi!  (Is that from GM-centric Ypsilanti, MI, by any chance?  lol)  I've owned the '68 Nova since Oct. of 1969, but my daily driver is a 2004 Toyota 4Runner SR5 4WD.  Messrs. Waggoner and Lutz don't know it, but I was so mad at General Motors after owning a POS 1982 Buick LeSabre that I pretty much swore off GM forever.  All car companies will go broke with me, however, as I've only owned six vehicles in 41 years:  the '68 Nova, a '74 AMC Hornet wagon, an '80 Datsun 200SX, the '82 Buick, a '93 Ford Explorer Sport and the '04 4Runner.  lol  They were, respectively, fair, poor, great, really poor, great and really great.  Tell them to convince me!  :)

Mr. Ypsi

LOL! :D

Yeah, I'm in 'car country', but they lost me a long time ago.  Our current three cars are a Subaru Impreza (now owned by my son who has his own apartment, but still sorta lives here), a Honda Odyssey (made in the USA and replacing a Dodge Caravan made in Canada - buying 'American' is complicated!), and a Toyota Prius (which gets BETTER gas mileage than advertised!).

But Michigan is hurting - all you other guys buy Detroit! ;D
