wpspencer22-

Please don't take offense but the people on this board don't get too worked up over statements about any DI transfer.  I hope that EMU is competitive this year and that your cousin plays well but we have seen this situation a hundred (if not more) times.  There have been many players who transferred to an ODAC school from DI programs who failed to live up to the hype.

People love labels and being a DI guy sounds great but doesn't make you a better player.  If your cousin comes into the ODAC thinking it won't be extremely competitive then he will surely fail.  There is a laundry list of transfer guys who made that mistake.  Also, almost without fail, any DI transfer who played in the ODAC will tell you that it was far more competitive than they ever imagined.

Agree.  Well said. +1

I agree, most often than not they can not cut it, but if you come from D1 to D3 and still cannot cut it you need to go play intermurals, every level has players, some d3 players should be D1 or D2 players like Arthur Kidd went from Macon to Union and won a national chip in 05' and some players come from d1 and shouldn't have been there in the first place and some walked on to the D1 (so you shouldn't be validated as a D1 transfer if did not get a scholarship or a walk-on who played a nice chunk of min), usually if you get a scholarship to a D1 its for a reason...but some have failed maybe for not the right system for them, failure of chemistry, or some cases lack of talent, could be a lot of reason people are not successful..but the reason influx of D2's and D3's beating D1's are a testament to how good complete teams are in this divisions..but thanks for the insight

blah blah blah - I sure hope your cousin has the goods. 'Cause if he doesn't he's gunna see some hostile gyms. Have you ever considered watching a few ODAC games before you tout someone? I for one believe that all 1st Team ODAC players would be scholarship players at Charleston Southern & likely 3 year starters. btw - who names a a school in geographical reference to a small city. I'm familiar with SW Missouri, East Carolina, Central Michigan  and Southern Miss - but a small city ???.

True, with the returning players, it will be hard for a freshman to break into the lineup.  Based on HS stats, some of these first years are scorers, will see how they do at this level.

Looks like the RMC roster is up:

?Does anyone have any insight into the five RMC freshmen?
I don't know any more than what i got in an email from Nathan Davis a week or so ago in a YJ Club Email or what I heard at an Alumni Social with Prez Lindgren tonite in Suffolk.....I also think P.T. will be limited with the experience we have....unless a Ringer pops up...:-)

As for new Jackets, we know someone who has watched #1 Keenan Brown (G) play at Walsingham Academy & says he's worthy of high expectations.  Nothing more specific than that...

We think Calvin Croskey is really going to come on strong this year & Eric Pugh sure had a good first outing at AU, so freshmen playing at G may be scarce.

Wishing success to everyone in the ODAC for a great season!

GO JACKETS!!!!

3 year starters, I don't know about that one..that's major stretch...but again your entitled to your opinion...I've seen enough ODAC games to make a correct observation of the talent level man...believe me..""'Cause if he doesn't he's gunna see some hostile gyms""...ok? It's supposed to be hostile on the road that's the great thing about people supporting the home team, its supposed to be hostile so...what's ur point there? and the attack on a school name...that's not necessary to try to discredit his former institution...they are still D1, that's just flat out hate man...but again statements have been made we shall see...I'm moving on...

Hating? Hardly, some folks just hear D-1 and are impressed. Charleston Southern was 324th in last years NCAA RPI ( http://web1.ncaa.org/app_data/weeklyrpi/2009MBBrpi1.html ). Not overly impressive.
Here is a list of the last 8 1st team ODAC players who were seniors: Adair, Bienemann, Fantin, Peery, Sager, Short, Snipes & (last but not least) Strong. At least 3 of then were 1st team twice. I think the C-S coach would have loved to have every one of them.

I'd like to think I'm 'fair an balanced'. If your cuz has the goods I'll be there congratulating him and your whole family (RC's & moonpies?).  No one wishes him ill. I think all the fans on this board are of the let's wait & see mentality. Keep us posted on his progress.

RMCs and Moonpies?  Next there'll be streaking.

Special thanks to wpspencer22 for providing fine entertainment on the board.

And kudos to RMC for giving the entire ODAC a big warning shot across the bow.  RMC is now the team to beat.

C'mon now Sludge! I'd say there at least 4 teams vying for the top spot: Guilford; VWC, HSC, and RMC. And, back in the day there was annual competition for moonpies and RC Colas. Right Jimmy Loesel? ;D

Eastern Mennonite will be much better than #5 in the ODAC.

Coach Jeff Jones at American must have lots of insight about them now since they imposed their will on his team.

That's why Martin and his whole class transferred out of there..lol..all of that is fair and unstandable...thanks...and I will, hopefully I can find you and get the RC's & Moonpies regardless, nothing like a friendly conversation over a good snack!!

If his whole class transferred out, how come they've got 2 seniors on the roster at C-S? Where was he last year & why no hoops at the D-2 school in NC?

Looks like it could be a long season on the ODAC board.

Donho, you're like a Hemmingway:  a lot of richness in a few words.

Hey JDub,

I guess the moon pies and an RC cola will tell us who has been following the board for a while. ;)

Hey BH - No kidding! It all of a sudden occurred to me that I'm older than dirt :o
But, not as old as Loesel, Steelyglen, Algernon, or Oldfish!
