1st time in a long time W&L wins at E&H. Nice start! Keep it going Gennies!
If you make every game a life and death proposition, you're going to have problems. For one thing, you'll be dead a lot. Dean Smith

Congratulations to the Fighting Emus for a great start! The Fish need to get it together before meeting the Quackers at the Fish Tank on Saturday.

Jackets get 51 points off the bench against a quality opponent.  That's either very good depth or the wrong guys are starting.

Or, it's a heck of a clever winning strategy by Coach Davis.

3 of the 6 players who got the most minutes did not start the game.  I haven't checked the play-by-play but assume they were not long on the bench before they entered the game.

The Yellow Jackets certainly have a strong squad this year ... and I'm saying that despite the fact that DeSales' performance to date (3-2) suggests that they were way overrated as a preseason #7.

I think a number of teams will drop (or drop out) in the poll when it's issued again.  Take a look, for example, at Puget Sound with 4 losses, Wooster and UW-Oshkosh with 3, Centre and UW-Platteville with 2.   Final Four teams Richard Stockton and F&M have already lost once.  In fact, fifteen of the current Top 25 have one or more losses, but it should be noted that some have fallen, as expected, to a higher ranked team within the Top 25.  I predict quite a shake-up when the next poll is taken.

Last year, 9 of the Top 25 in the Preseason Poll had dropped out of the Top 25 in the Week 1 men's poll.  Only 5 teams in the Week 1 poll had a loss on their record .... and there were 0 teams that stayed in the Top 25 with 2 losses on their record.  It seems reasonable to think things will be no different this year.  Puget Sound, Wooster, and UW-Oshkosh, Centre, UW-Platteville, and DeSales will drop out, along with some others.

New polls out, RMC makes biggest move, up 10 spots.

R-MC went from #19 to #9, up 10 spots. Amherst went from #25 to #13, up 12 spots.

donho

RMC at number 9 is way to high. At this point anywhere from 15 to 20 would be closer to their real value.

Guilford annihilated its first three opponents, but fell from 3rd to 4th.  Meanwhile, the John Carroll team the Quakers beat (on JCU's home floor) last March remains in 2nd and St. Thomas moved up to 3rd (on the strength of its one-point win over UW-River Falls?).  And yes, I am bemused.  :)

Meanwhile, congratulations to RMC!

Exactly.  I don't understand how you fall in the rankings when you win all your games handily and you have no injuries.  If Guilford's truly the 4th best team and St. Thomas is 3rd, why didn't the same voters put them in this order in the preseason?  What's changed?

My guess would be the Tommies absolutely hammering Wooster (AT Wooster).
