no way GC should have moved down a spot!! !!    ODAC has 4 teams in top 25 and getting votes!
Exactly.  I don't understand how you fall in the rankings when you win all your games handily and you have no injuries.  If Guilford's truly the 4th best team and St. Thomas is 3rd, why didn't the same voters put them in this order in the preseason?  What's changed?

My guess would be the Tommies absolutely hammering Wooster (AT Wooster).
I assumed that as well, Mr. Ypsi, but CoW's lost three games so far, albeit also to #2 John Carroll and Albion.

Woo (at 2-3) is still ranked #25 (yet the Tommies won by almost 30).  When another poster (on another board) questioned Woo's ranking, I pointed out that they have the second highest winning total in d3! It is still so early that program success and history probably mean at least as much as 2009 results (unless they are conspicuously good or bad).  The Tommies went undefeated in the regular season last year.  If Guilford keeps winning, they will get their due.

(Personally, I'd have the Quakers #2 on my ballot, but Pat doesn't give me a ballot! ;D)

Maybe it's just the math major in me, but as of 9:15 am the poll at the top of the page has 5 items with votes of 0, 7, 5, 1 and 7, respectively .... but the total says 19.  I have, on occasion, been accused of being a ham sandwich short of a picnic, but I'm thinking 20!  I'm just saying ...  :)

Our SCOTS will be fine, although the schedule doesn't get any tougher.  In terms of strength of schedule, ours is pretty high on the list.  I suspect as conference play rolls along both the NCAC and ODAC will have some serious implications on D3hoops top 25.  Witt looks as if they are back although they have played NOBODY while a possible WOO vs RMC looms and could be huge.

Two ODAC teams in the top 10 and two teams receiving votes... who said the ODAC wasn't the toughest league in the country?

#6 Wheaton, #16 Illinois Wesleyan, #17 Carthage, and #21 Augustana all play in the CCIW.

#5 UW-Stevens Point, #7 UW-Whitewater, plus UW-Platteville receiving votes and UW-LaCrosse receiving votes, all play in the WIAC.

You had to know a counter argument was coming - and rightly so!  I saw the same CCIW and WIAC schools in the poll/RV, but I was lazy and Mr. Ypsi took the time to post it!

The NESCAC also has #13 Amherst, #15 Middlebury and RV Williams.

Finally, the UAA has #1 Washington, #23 Brandeis and RV Rochester.

That top 25 would look good say late Jan., early Feb. Right now it is not worth very much.

I agree - get at least half the season done and we'll see!

Agreed.  The IWU women just went to #1 - I have very mixed feelings.  It's a great honor, but this early in the season it doesn't really matter, and puts a HUGE bullseye on their backs for every team they'll play.

And Chicago also receiving votes -- a grand total of 2 to go with Rochester's 1. ;D

Is that just yet another team having a Trawick problem, or is it something else?
