W&L beats Emory. Point guard Jason Cimino had a great day! I'm a big fan of the point guard from NJ.

Big game against the EMU's this week! Now we're into the ODAC schedule :o
Great start for the Generals ... congratulations!  When you take the ODAC games out of the records, the six conference teams off to the best starts (EMU, GC, Randolph, RMC, VWC and W&L) are a collective 44-3.  EMU lost to Southern Virginia, Randolph tripped versus Piedmont and W&L fell to Case Western Reserve.

Thanks for the tips, bigrips77... the Jacket nation may not be big enough to pull off a letter writing campaign, but we have been known to send some!

The RT-D hasn't really covered us that well since the '80s, and they did a pretty good job of it back then.  But their coverage of us really died down over the '90s.  Mills and Wansley would get us some good coverage in recent years but it was inconsistent.  Also, I think coverage of RMC hoops would be steadier had we fared better in the opening rounds of the ODAC tournament the last two years. :-\

I'm all for the letter campaign, but it's going to take ODAC fans as a whole to get this done.  I've read many good letters from Hampden-Sydney fans over the years asking for more coverage, but to very little result. :-X

Thanks for the advice, Jacketlawyer; we've written letters and emails in the past without much success.  I've seen a host of simple reporting errors over the past couple of weeks in the T-D sports section... maybe it was just the holidaze?

Anyway, looks like an undefeated team at this stage of the season just isn't news unless it's a big school team.  That's sad... but we wouldn't trade the sports program at our little school for all the big schools in Richmond, or even in all of VA for that matter.

GO JACKETS!!!!

Richmonders Jordan Brown and Adam Desgain are the top scorers with 22 and 17 respectively.  Come on, Richmond Times-Dispatch - wake up and cover these guys!
Croskey and Braxton had 11 and 10 rebounds.

Trawick came out strong in the second half and hit some beautiful 3s - glad to see he's okay with the knee.  Johnson was the Eagles top scorer with 19.

Good road win, Jackets!

Jackets win 74-53....set up big ranking tomorrow, and bet on a Huge, raucious crowd at  H-SC Fleet to greet the Jackets on wed nite!...this is where we'll see where they are...... a HUGELY HOSTILE crowd full of ...well..student..HOSTILITY!! These games, over the years, when important nationally for one program or another, are the best college environment to watch a game!.....and neither team, regardless of the ranking, has an advantage....I'd watch out for the Tigers so they don't get an early lead and get that crazy crowd of students into it....if they do, it can be a long, hard fight back.... Great win tonight and good luck wednesday!  GO JACKETS!

First, congratulations to RMC for a great 11-0 start!  Will they be #1 tomorrow?

Second, the tough season continues for the Wasps: King 113, E&H 108 in Emory.

Actually, I doubt that there will be a large crowd at Fleet tomorrow.  The students do not come back until next Tuesday and local attendance has been done for the past few years.  I hope that I am wrong and a large crowd shows up to rattle the Jackets and help HSC hand Macon their first loss, but I don't think I will be.

Hope everyone is staying warm.

^^ RMC1982 - 4 ODAC teams in the top 25!  Wonder when was the last time that happened?

WAY TO GO ODAC TEAMS!

GO JACKETS!!!

hope you're wrong... if I didn't live so far away, I'd try to make it to that game Wednesday night.  The Tigers and Jackets always battle it out and that one should be a great game at Fleet.

Congrats to the ODAC for 4 ranked teams!!!  Very well deserved IMO, and hopefully W&L starts to get some love at 8-2.

First thing I looked for this morning was the Top 25 poll.  Congratulations to RMC and all the ODAC teams for being ranked.  I know RMC, GC and VWC have been frequent visitors to the poll, but what about EMU?  Is this their first appearance?

The Gennies need credible wins to get some 'love' & rightfully so. A successful week vs EMU & VW would be major validation. GO Generals - show us what you're made of!
