Nice win this afternoon over Washington Adventist, a DII team that was fast and played aggressive defense.  Turner King had 19 points and 10 rebounds, while Harrison George had 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 steals in only 25 minutes of play.  Ben Jessee scored 14 and Jonathan Mudd had 9, while freshman  Randall Ward had 6 points, 5 rebounds, and 7 assists in 19 minutes of play.

The Tigers are really hitting their stride at this point and I think that Harrison George is clearly the ODAC FOY, averaging 16.9 points and 8.2 rebounds a game in ODAC Conference play.

The Tigers will now go on the road again and again and again .... @ Guilford on Wednesday (videocast at http://www.pennatlantic.com/main.php?tableName=event&fileName=results&recordId=&module=event-results&orderBy=&searchIt=yes&sport=0&month=0&day=01&year=2009&conferenceId=0&schoolId=308) and then to Emory on Saturday the 6th, to Roanoke on Wednesday the 10th, and to Randolph-Macon the following Wednesday, not returning to Fleet until Saturday the 20th.  They might have to play a play-in game for the tournament on Tuesday the 23rd, but I'm hoping that they'll be seeded #3, #4, or #5 and avoid that one.

In the only other ODAC game today, Lynchburg takes down Roanoke. The loss guarantees Roanoke a losing season unless they pull off a miracle run in the ODAC Tournament. What is going on over there in Salem, 14 losses this season already?? A down year was to be expected for Roanoke, but I don't think even the biggest Roanoke haters ever expected it to be this bad.

EMU needs to learn what a two-point shot is. Their love affair with the three is costing them games.

So, Scottie2Hottie, er....TheRock...I'm sure Coach Dean is waiting with baited breath for some more crack analysis of his 15-3 EMU squad as the enter this very demanding part of their schedule.

Actually, xcoach, I think TheRock is just as likely to be mybleedinghands as he is to be Scottie2Hottie .....

Who ever it is, I'm sure coach dean is cool with 15-3 and understands u can't shoot great every night. With that being said they still shoot 35% as a team. I'm sure most coaches would take that team % if they were a team that shot a lot of 3s

To All: Be advised that I have heard from Scott Harris, formerly known as ScottieTooHottie and MyBleedingHands, who has asked me to pass on to you that he IS NOT "therock."

I wonder whether "therock" is willing to confirm that he is NOT Scott Harris ....

Just like his new movie where he is a tooth fairy!

Algernon -
I have known the artist previously known as Scottie2Hottie for a long time and his M.O. has always been an over reliance on stats and a penchant for spontaneous, simplistic criticism. Look back over the brief history of TheRock on this board and I believe you will see the same pattern. Additionally, he just can't stay off this forum and has reappeared with nom de plumes before. This is without question, a Scottie2Hottie sighting!

Even prior to your post, I had wondered whether "therock" was Scottie2Hottie, so I was pretty convinced when I saw your post.  My suspicions were for the very same reasons you give: the kind of stats therock's presenting are the same, therock's interest in Woolridge, Echols, and other such Lynchburg players is just like Scottie, and therock's quick criticism is in the same style as Scottie's.

I'm afraid it will take more evidence than (1) Scott's denial to jdubyadubya and (2) therock's denial on this board to convince me that Scott is not back on the board again, using his newest moniker and ready to engage in as much denial as necessary to refute allegations that HE HAS RETURNED.

This is great stuff!  Its like saying sludge isn't married to the Muckraker.

If Scottie is hanging around, he could come up for air.  Lynchburg is exceeding expectations this year, and is playing pretty well in spite of no longer having Mason Wooldrige.  The program is looking good right now.

Hats off to the team for the analysis on this topic, whether you guys have it right or not.

Has anyone ever seen therock and STH in the same place at the same time?  It's not without precedence, but Lois and Jimmy rarely noticed that Clark Kent and Superman were never in the same place at the same time either.  :)  As a test, let's see if either one comes out of hiding to answer these truly Hornetcentric men's basketball questions:

What year did LC play its first intercollegiate game?
What's LC's all-time record?
Who holds LC's record for career points?
Who holds LC's record for rebounds?
Who's the greatest LC manager of all time?
Who's the greatest LC Assistant SID of all-time?
What are the GPA's of this year's LC team?
Why are they called the Hornets?
What are the odds of therock and STH being born on the same day at the same time?  ("roughly the same as being mauled by a regular bear and a Polar bear in the same day"?)

OK, show us your "shocked face"!   :o

Poll's out:  1, 7, 16 & 18 for GC, VWC, EMU and RMC, respectively.  Still a great showing for the ODAC!  Congratulations, Quakers!
