For those who are interested, here's about 3 minutes of video (including the ending) from last night's HSC at GC game in Greenboro:

Enjoy!

Thanks for posting the link, hasanova!  Interesting to see it again.  Two things really impressed me ..... 1) the way that Harrison George took the pass from Jonathan Mudd and then so quickly got it to the hoop for his dunk! .... 2) and Tyler Sanborn's defense against Turner King in the final seconds, staying right with him and getting that block on a shot that probably would have sent the game to OT.   Wow!
You're welcome, algernon.  Both plays you cite were key points in the game.  It was a great game to attend ... probably one the Top 10 I've seen at Guilford since 1970!

I just found out Brian Hamilton was in the house - sorry I missed you Brian!

It is snowing like crazy in Hampden-Sydney and we are expecting 6-20 inches.  That's a broad range ... and my understanding is that it depends upon what temperature it is at 5000 feet and that 1-2 degrees of variation can determine how much comes down as snow vs. sleet or freezing rain.

The Tigers were getting on the bus this morning about 7am for the trip to Emory and should be there by mid-day, I guess.  I don't know what those guys are going to do with so much time in Emory  .....  but I hope they have a good time!

Hampden-Sydney @ Emory & Henry will be played tomorrow, but has been moved forward 1 hour, from 2pm until 1pm.  There's an audiostream @ http://www.hsc.edu/athletics/athleticsonline.html

All of the other 4 ODAC games scheduled for tomorrow have been rescheduled:

Postponed 1 day, until Sunday: Bridgewater @ Randolph

Postponed until the last week of the regular season – scheduled for Monday, February 15, @ 7pm:
    Lynchburg @ Randolph-Macon
    Virginia Wesleyan @ EMU
    Guilford @ Washington & Lee

algernon

These are my guesses for the tournament play-in games, scheduled for Tuesday, February 23:

#11 Emory & Henry @ #6 Washington & Lee
#10 Roanoke @ #7 Bridgewater
#9 Randolph @ #8 Lynchburg -- only 1 Lynchburg team goes to Salem

And possible quarterfinals in Salem on Friday, February 26:

1pm: Lynchburg/Randolph vs. #1 Guilford
3pm: #4 RMC vs. #5 HSC -- their 3rd game this season!

6pm: Bridgewater/Roanoke vs. #2 Virginia Wesleyan
8pm: W&L/E&H vs. #3 EMU

30 games remain in the ODAC, way to many to guess who will go to Salem let alone the seedings

HSC suffers a major setback on the road at E&H, falling 71-69. E&H breaks a 10-game losing streak and earns their first win in the ODAC this season.

Thats crazy, i didnt get to see the game but an E&H player scored the game winning shot with 5 seconds left

HSCDad

H-SC game - long snow trip and 25 hour wait for game must have taken toll - H-SC did not sound strong - Jessee and King both had ankle injuries but both did return to game - H-SC was up 6 when King went out - E&H was 47% from 3 point whereas H-SC was less than 20% - King had 11 in 1st half and only 4 in 2nd with no 3's.  Jesse had about 6 points - George was playing a long time with 4 fouls - normal bench strength was missing also today - should be ready for Roanoke - total of 3 H-SC fans there with 2 radio announcers so we thank them for efforts

HSCDad

One strong positive - H-SC was down 65-55 with about 4 minutes to go
they played hard and caught up with 5 seconds to go but were unable
to get a shot off  - their total loss margin for the season other than the first EMU game and the Div 1 loss has to be under 15 points!!!

donho

I know you figured HSC losing today into your seedings.

sludge

Let me get this straight:  HSC plays Guilford on the road even-up, basically losing only because time runs out.  Then, a few days later they lost to Emory & Henry (a very different team!) by a similar margin!
Wow, that's college basketball for you.  Very dynamic!

Donho, you are the master of understatement, but algernon is the master of overconfidence.

donho

ROCK are you sure about that score??

ROCK are you sure about that score??
Yes, it's on the ODAC, E&H, and HSC websites. Why?

donho

Rock I just wanted to be sure. I am wondering why you called it a major setback? Unless you mean so they stay above 500 !
