Not very tall but will run, run, run you to death!! VERY streaky and can hit 3's from everywhere at a furious pace. You will think you're still in the game and you turn around and you're down by...like ...25!! Ask R-MC, VWC,or Guilford(or anybody else in the ODAC for that matter)By far the most dangerous of the 4 in the tournament.I think Guilford top to bottom is the best in the conference(perhaps in the nation)but EMU is just plain SCARY with the amount they can score and BURY teams so quickly....Get ready......or they will RUN YOU OVER!
Some of their threes ought to be worth four ... or five!  You go out thirty feet to guard them and they back up a few feet and hit it anyway.  And they put at least four guys on the court who can take the shot.  They are quick.

hasanova, your team has guys that can do this, too.  And plenty of them.  Never seen anything quite like it ourselves!!
Well, yes, we do have some shooters.  As far as DIII teams go, this Quaker team is a well-balanced unit ... height, inside muscle, good ball handlers and terrific outside shooters.  Henson is an absolute game changer when he's on ... I've seen him score 15-18 points in just a matter of minutes!  Bonner has a higher percentage than Henson, but it's obvious he's taken thousands of practice shots in his life.  Anderson and Lowder don't shoot often, but they've hit some incredibly big baskets when they're open and everyone else is closely guarded.  Freshman # 21 Pittman is already a good player, but I predict he'll be a great one during his career.  I don't care where you played, if you scored 2200 points in HS, chances are you can shoot!  Speaking of Pittman, as a Junior he put 50 on Greensboro Dudley to win the NC state HS championship game at the Dean Dome in Chapel Hill.  For those of you unfamiliar with Dudley HS, they're a perennial power with a who's who list of former and current great college and pro players ... always quick and oh so athletic.

Not worth dwelling on the T call at this point. You are right!! The one thing I will say is that the continuation is only in effect if it is a clear fast break or advantage. There was no advantage and all players were across half court with the T should have been assessed before the 3pt. That was my take on the call and who knows, it is what it is at this point.

Congrats to all ODAC teams and I wish everyone Luck. I will be rooting ODAC all the way until they play each other!! If that happens.
Looking forward to hosting this weekend!!!! Congrats to GC on the Tournament Title as well. Great group of guys from what I saw, also Coach P is a great guy!
Good luck to EMU as well.  Thanks.  They are.  He is.

In the tournament fantasy league, I took Tyler Sanborn as my first overall pick.  Please a) make the FF, and b) assure that he is channeling his 'inner Ben Strong'! ;D

BTW, b) is the MOST important (to me, not to some of you)! ;)  When we used to just pick 5 players (no draft, so multiple posters could pick the same guy), the 3 of us who picked Ben went 1, 2, 3, even though Guilford LOST in the Elite 8! :o
Well, the 59 versus Lincoln could make almost anyone a winner!

Add in the other aspects of fantasy scoring and he went for close to 100 that game, when 40 was great and 50 was fantastic.  The fantasy record seems to have disappeared when Pat 'cleaned' the boards a couple of years ago, but I think that one game by Ben was more than two games by anyone else, and more than the entire tourney for most players selected! ;)

So which game will Tyler do that for me? ;D

I don't know.   lol  When we were calculating the Efficiency Rating a few weeks ago, Sanborn had a 46.  His career high for points is 29, but he's also capable of getting about 15-20 rebounds every game!

Yeah, I could live with, say, 25-15, though now I might need him to go to Salem. ;)

OK, so be it.

And for EMU Fans: wishing you the good luck you deserve.
I hope to see you in a rematch along the way.

R-MC's Pugh and Phillips were the other 2 All-Tourney recipients.

I would like to correct myself; Danny Jones was on the all-tournament team, not Phillips.

Quaker Club members:  the Guilford College Quaker Club will have a Hospitality center (in Ragan-Brown or Founders?) on Friday.  It appears as though the Warrick-Ragsdale Room and adjacent classrooms will be used for NCAA receptions/interviews, so stay-tuned for where we'll host and times.

Recruit people to come with you this weekend and let's pack Ragan-Brown!  If you've never seen the Quakers play, now's the time!
Given the NCAA's space requirements, the logistics and timing for Friday's games, the Quaker Club will not host a hospitality room.  I look forward, however, to seeing all Quaker fans at this weekend's games and appreciate your understanding about our collective decision to not host a reception.  Go Quakers!

Even though it means very little now that the NCAA field has been set, the new Top 25 has been posted. Guilford is 3, EMU 10, VWC 11, and RMC 16. I'm surprised Macon only moved up 2 spots, but the important thing is that 4 ODAC teams made the tournament!

2RMCFans

^^ yes, and the other important thing is that they all need to WIN on Friday!

GO ODAC!!!

GO JACKETS!!!!

Emu435

I love how everyone is very competitive when we have to play each other, but when the tournament comes we all pull for each other.  well that is until all four are in the elite 8 and we have to play each other.  haha.  i hope that happens.  it will be a good day for the ODAC.

Yeah, and final regional poll is out too - ODAC occupies 4 of top 5 spots.  I sure do hope they ALL go forward in the tourney.

1. Guilford 26-2 26-2
2. Eastern Mennonite 18-3 22-4

3. Texas-Dallas 22-4 23-5
4. Randolph-Macon 16-6 22-6
5. Virginia Wesleyan 20-5 22-5

6. Maryville (Tenn.) 16-3 23-4
7. Austin 20-7 20-7
8. Mary Hardin-Baylor 22-5 22-6

I will not be able to access the internet very easily this coming weekend .... or the weekend following.  I will be getting game scores as much as I can ... and I'm hoping that all 4 teams win their first 3 games on Friday the 5th, Saturday the 6th, and Friday the 12th.  That's an extremely tall order, at this stage of the game, with the competition that's out there.  However -- if it were to happen -- what a cool Elite Eight we'd have!!

If the ODAC has a team (or two!) in the Final Four, I hope to make it to Salem on Friday the 19th for the National Semifinals.  I was down there for championship weekend in 1999 (Tigers), 2003 (Tigers), and 2006 (Marlins) and know it has the potential to be a very fun weekend!

Thanks deangn-- we were asleep at the wheel, literally, when you first posted.  Danny Jones had an awesome game that night, and has been a real factor all year.  It's great to see him get that recognition for all his efforts and coming off the bench at that!  Also, Eric Pugh, often overlooked, but not this time.  GO JACKETS!!!!

Tickets for the NCAA Tournament at EMU and Guilford are cheaper than the ODAC Tournament. Just thought that was interesting.

I went over to the University Commons to buy tickets for the Runnin' Royals game against Centre this morning. What a packed lobby of people in line waiting for the box office to begin selling tickets at 11:30! Some of my friends said they got there at 10:50, and I would estimate at least 125 people in front of them yet! It seemed like a good number of the people there were purchasing the maximum allotted 4 tickets per person. It's going to be exciting on Friday night in Harrisonburg!
