RMC 73,F&M 65 Final
Guilford 90,EMU 80 Final

Congrats to the Jackets and Quakers.
Great games by Sanborn,Henson and Stephenson.
DJ Hinson with 37 points for EMU.

The Royals will be back next year.

Brian Hamilton

Congrats to both Guilford and RMC on advancing to the Final Four.  I wonder if this is the year that teh 1999 National Championship game's record crowd will get broken with two ODAC schools in the Final Four.  I would imagine that a Macon-Guilford final would draw pretty well!  Only time will tell.

Also congratulations to EMU.  A great season, and, as DonHo said, you showed it in February and March!

Best of luck to both teams in the Final Four and safe travels to all fans.

Congrats to Guilford on a quality win. I think  they would have beaten any opponent in Ragan-Brown tonight. Also, thanks to GC for being great hosts. You have a lot to be proud of.

Thanks to the Runnin' Royals for providing us with a wonderful season. We are very proud of all of you. Congrats to you for all of your successes. It was the best season EMU has EVER HAD!

Continued success to the Quakers and Jackets. Let's have an ODAC Champ!

Hell Yeah.  Lets go Macon.  Getting it done in the ODAC Tournament and NCAA Tournament.  Congrats to the players for putting in all of the hard wrk and sticking with it.  Congrats to Coach Davis and Coach Byers.  Unbelievable first year with the hope/expectation that we got 2 more in us!  Congrats to Coach Rhoades and Coach Byers for building the foundation of this team through recruiting and coaching.  And congrats to Coach Davis arriving with high expectations, holding the recruiting class and team together, dismissing bad apples once 2nd chances had been given, and exceeding every expectation we had for you!

D3hoops.com thanks for covering the games so those of us around the world can keep up with the events of the DIII Tournament.  Wish I coud be there in Salem but I will be monitoring via the internet.  Congrats again to Guilford for making it 2 ODAC teams in the Final Four!

ODAC fans -- this is a notice to you.

This year, the men's Final Four got re-upped for only one year in Salem, Va. In previous years it was awarded for two years at a time; before that, it used to be given out three years at a time.

Your conference needs your support, I believe, if it wants to continue hosting the Final Four long-term. This is your opportunity to come fill the Salem Civic Center. The ODAC needs you.

Looking at the stats, Guilford got it done tonight with rebound, and with high percentage shooting.  The rebounding was a remarkable 41 to 22.  Remarkable because Eastern Mennonite is very athletic.  If you subtract Tyler Sanborn's 14 rebounds and throw them away, Guilford still outrebounded EMU.  The rebounds more than made up for the turnovers.  Also, Guilford is hard to beat when they shoot 61% from the floor.

DJ Hinson is a phenomenon.  Amazing.  Really hard to guard.  A POY type of guy.

I'm glad we did a better job of hosting EMU than last time.

sludge, I saw you tonight, but didn't get a chance to say hello.  It was a great environment, wasn't it?

First, congratulations to EMU.  Wow!  I'm glad we were able to withstand that fine shooting!  Sometimes teams with this many underclassmen are a year away.  I expect big things from the Royals in 2010-11!

Second, Sanborn was virtually unstoppable tonight and Henson can be a game-changer, but I'd give the game ball to Martin Stephenson.  Six for six and 13 points in 20 minutes.  Everytime I looked up , he was slashing to the basket for a lay-up!  With Sanborn consistently double- and triple-teamed, the shots are going to be there!

Third, congratulations also to RM-C.  Two ODAC teams in the Final Four is terrific!

See you in Salem!

WOW!!!!!! what a game! R-MC vs F+M was a battle. Congrats to F+M on a fine season.
Congrats to R-MC for what has turned into a great season.
Congrats to Guilford, well done. And a fine season at EMU (as I posted on friday.)
 On to SALEM!

That four hour ride home was a killer, but worth it!!

Back in Harrisonburg, after an exciting weekend in Greensboro. Four quality teams in the sectional produced three great games! Overall, I thought the officials did a pretty good job this weekend too. Sanborn only had 3 fouls the entire weekend and only had one foul in the EMU game and didn't pick it up until about the 6.5 minute mark in the game :o

GC was the better team last night. They played unbelievable! That had to be one of their best games all season. EMU was able stay around because of the 3 point shot from Hinson and Johnson. What a performance by Hinson finishing with 37 points, 25 in the first half! Congratulations to Guilford on a great season and good luck in Salem. Go ODAC.

That game leaves a bitter taste in your mouth, but it's been a memorable season by the EMU Royals! A regular season ODAC Title, 5-2 against ranked opponents, program record 25-5, and an NCAA Elite Eight appearance! I know this group will work hard in the off season. It has been a lot of fun this season and we are already looking forward to the 2010-2011 season! Congratulations to Coach Dean, his staff, and all the players on your accomplishments this year! Go Royals!

2RMCFans

We're hoarse from cheering and very sleep deprived but not as much as donho... nice to meet you, don, glad you got home safely.

F&M took us off our game early and congrats to them on their season-- #44 must have been about 70% on FGs last night but they managed to control #3 pretty well.

Congrats to Guilford on another BIG win, but also to EMU on their season--- the Royals are going to be tough to beat next year.  Quakers, we hope to get another round with you and will be rooting for you over Williams -- and that's not because we're scared of those guys!

The headline photo here tells it all.  What a super bunch of players & coaches we have at R-MC.  They kept their heads down last night and got the job done on both ends.  Seeing their huge smiles in that photo makes all the driving, hotel bills and sweat-drenched stadium hours worth it for us, the R-MC fans.

WAY TO GO, ODAC!!!!  Let's bring it on in Salem.  Let's rally all the ODAC troops and fill that place up!

GO JACKETS!!!!

donho

2RMCFans, it was nice to meet you all. To see the hard work pay off works for me.

GO COACH BYERS!!!! Hope to see you in Salem.

I also want another chance at Guilford. Do not know how many realize this but every team we have lost to we have come back at a later date and beaten them.

  GO JACKETS !!!!

Pat Coleman

Congrats to Donho and other longtime Randolph-Macon posters!

Donho -- you've been here a lot longer than your listed 2003 registration date.

Just a note, but the ODAC's 10-1 so far in the tournament.  Obviously, at least one more goes home tonight.  With at least one team guaranteed a spot in the Final Four and the possibility of two, it's been a great season!
Twelve and two for the ODAC ... with one of the losses coming at its own hands.  Not too bad.  :)
